A Congressional witness claiming to be a disabled veteran for a sprained ankle he allegedly sustained almost 30 years ago, walked into a human buzz saw when confronted with Rep. Tammy Duckworth, who lost both her legs and severely injured her right arm during her service in the Iraq War.

FACE PALM! What an unfortunate metaphor.
Good for Tammy that she called out this phony and his scheming money from the government. Now she should take a look at the party she represents who have been stealing from citizens for years.
I wish she would go over and say the same things to our Secretary of State. Mr. Band-Aid wound himself.
OTOH, according to Wikipedia she's endorsed by the Brady Campaign and thinks citizens should be disarmed. According to Wikipedia, she's endorsed by EMILY's List, and thinks killing babies in utero is perfectly fine.
So IMO, LT COL Duckworth is an honourable veteran. REP Duckworth is a worthless POS.
The funny thing about Tammy Duckworth is the fact that the first time I heard of her was in a story about foreign born politicians in the Honolulu Advisor.
Care to take a shot at who the other foreign born politician was?
Blagojevich was her political patron.

There are many of us who have some disability, approved by the VA after their review. Less than 50% provides a token (tax free, if retired) check.

What they did was changed the story 4 years after the fact because birthers had noticed it then tried to claim it had been corrected back in 06 which was a lie or I wouldn’t have been able to grab the original version from their own site.
Duckworth, Kerry (both of them), and Murtha are all cut from the same cloth: Marxists who try to make themselves bulletproof with their uniformed service.
We can include West in there as well, but he’s not a Marxist by any stretch.

IMHO these two are not mutually exclusive.
I personally don’t think you can be an honorable veteran and go against the oath “to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic”.
I think she chooses to use her wounds to bolster her position and gain points for the enemy, but that is my opinion. Are there facts to the contrary?

There is widespread fraud in this area. It is looked at as providing “free money” to many veterans with “fractional” disability with the excuse of “you may as well get it”. It is just yet another disconnect between those who live off of a government-funded system and those who pay for it.
One might think that there wouldn’t be widespread dishonor amongst those who served in the military, but the truth is that it is a fraud that far too many people who serve in the military complicit in.
It is a travesty to those who have actual catastrophic combat-related disability, and secondarily to those that suffer debilitating service-related disability as a result of the requirements of their service.
I was wounded in 1971 an RPG or a Mortar landed behind my gun and I took allot of shrapnel in the upper part of my body, I recovered and to this day have yet to step into a VA facility. They owe me nothing! We have a VA hospital here my ex wife is a nurse there, my sister and her husband both retired from there and to hear the abuse stories they tell sickens me. It’s even worse now one of my buddies said almost 60% of his command in Iraq are going out claiming PTSD to get the lifetime benifits. Prescription drug addicts and alcoholics seem to be the mainstay for this hospital, maybe 10% have a real service related disability.

I'm inclined to agree.In my mind,for example,there are *two* John McCains...there's Lieutenant (or Commander...not sure of the highest rank he achieved)...a brave Naval aviator who suffered much,and sacrificed much,for this country and there's politician McCain who's subjected this nation to untold harm over his political career.And then there's Mister "In No Way".
It is one of the great mysteries of life how one can serve as a member of the military (a most honorable thing), and yet become a democrat politician after leaving the military.
To me, these two professions lie at opposite ends of the honor and duty spectrum.
Sorry, but given how the liberals operate nowadays, I consider them the enemy...and so do increasing numbers of us.
It remains to be seen what the future will bring.
