A jury has been selected for the second-degree murder trial of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, after more than a week of intensive jury selection in the high-profile case.
The lawyers have selected 10 Seminole County residents -- six jurors and four alternates -- to serve as jurors for a trial which is expected to last two to four weeks, and is sure to be closely watched across the nation.
Prosecutors say Zimmerman profiled, pursued and killed the unarmed teen Feb. 26, 2012, in Sanford. Zimmerman says he fired in self-defense after he was attacked by Trayvon, a high school junior from Miami Gardens.

Five of the six are married, which statistically means that they are more likely to be conservative. (Obama lost the married women's vote, but carried 2/3 of the single women's vote).
Also, at least two of the women are married to gun owners. One of them used to have a concealed carry permit but let it lapse. The prosecution tried to get the other stricken for cause but was unable to.
All in all a much better jury than I expected, since the jury pool was disproportionately black.

I think people are too quick to assume that just because its an all female jury that means that Zimmerman will be found guilty. I am a woman and I think Zimmerman was 100 percent justified in doing what he did..and did you all see the look on Zimmerman’s face today, he looked like he won the lotto he couldnt stop smiling..he has one of the best defense attorneys in Florida he will be fine..and no the prosecution will not be showing baby pictures of Trayvon Martin because if they do that will open the door to the defense showing the REAL Trayvon Martin, the one who posted gang banging pictures on twitter, the prosecution won’t be touching baby photos of him they know he was a thug
That strict gun control in Chicago doesn't seem to be working.
The liberal MSM doesn’t cover gang violence, or other black on black crime. They only highlight cases where a black man is killed by someone who is not black.
This is better for Zimmerman than 6 black men.
Tell me how many gun owners on the jury and I'll tell you if Zimmerman - and justice - has a chance.

If this was a local case, they should have let the local police decide what to do.

I don't mean to seem argumentive, Bubba_Leroy, but the leftist extremist so-called "gun control" actually is working in Chicago: it's keeping the denizens of that hell hole cowering in fear and helplessness.
The riots will be just a little bit bigger, though.
