George Zimmerman trial: Jury selected in Trayvon Martin shooting case

A jury has been selected for the second-degree murder trial of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, after more than a week of intensive jury selection in the high-profile case.

The lawyers have selected 10 Seminole County residents -- six jurors and four alternates -- to serve as jurors for a trial which is expected to last two to four weeks, and is sure to be closely watched across the nation.

Prosecutors say Zimmerman profiled, pursued and killed the unarmed teen Feb. 26, 2012, in Sanford. Zimmerman says he fired in self-defense after he was attacked by Trayvon, a high school junior from Miami Gardens.

Why does this article downplay the story in this story? The story is that all the jurors are female. The story is that Zimmerman/Martin did not get a jury of their peers. The story is that once Trayvon's attorneys get these jurors to cry by rolling out his baby pictures, ZIMMERMAN IS SCREWED. Fear of retaliation from the black community is already a done deal.

As usual, this is a tragic day for justice in America. Get ready for the gray bar hotel as your permanent residence, Zimmerman. A female judge and all female jury will fall prey to emotions, not the rule of law. "Justice" 2013.. NO MEN ALLOWED.. That would be MEAN!

I would love that if I were Zimmerman's lawyer. If the prosecution was dumb enough to put those baby pictures in, it would open the door to bring his teenage gangbanger pics in.

Not to mention that Zimmerman has baby pics too, and these could probably be introduced to show the absurdity of the prosecution's baby pic ploy.

Bringing out pictures of George's attacker as a child would be a big mistake...it would open the door for the defense to go down the "Let's see how this baby grew up" road...something the judge so far has said she will NOT allow.
