This time, you Freepers can trust that the head idiot, his ethically challenged cabinet, their libtard congressional overseers, and the mainstream media monkeys are not lying to you about the need to snoop!

I don’t believe it. They’d have to provide names, dates, places, pictures, recordings (we all know they have them)....etc. Just don’t believe it.

I hope they’ll say how many were jihadist. I had no problems watching mosques and anyone that goes to one full time. They need to admit that everything they stopped was jihad-related and also that only they will be monitored.
Anything less is unacceptable.

He doesn’t need arms control. Not when he is controlling ammo.

“In the subway plot, he said, the NSA intercepted an email from a terrorist in Pakistan in 2009 who was talking with someone in the United States about perfecting a recipe for explosives.”
Ok, a fine job monitoring emails from Pakistan into the USA. Now, back to the topic of widespread trawling of emails and phone calls between US citizens.
For extra credit, explain why we brought the Afghan citizen who was the “American” end of the plot into America in the first place, and thought it natural for him to travel back and forth to Pakistan after 9/11.
Data mining did not stop this plot. This story being revealed is pure Operation Mockingbird (or whatever the current name of the program is) intelligence community propaganda, nothing more.

Warrants would have had to be issued for each of these as well as any associated numbers. You can't simply assume only two people are connected.
And how do you get a warrant on an assumption?? And how do you set up stings??
So how many warrants were issued in real numbers??
I know they wouldn't lie to us. Benghazi is proof of that.

Obama can not have it both ways
If what his NSA is saying is true, then Obama must admit that the Muslim ideology is a serious and dire threat to the West. It clearly is NOT a “law enforcement” issue.
50+ failed attacks in 11 years is serious warfare. Either his NSA is lying, or he is a fool for continuing his political correctness with regards to Muslim surveilance in the USA.

Gen. Keith Alexander, the NSA director, told the committee that the programs had helped stop more than 50 potential terrorist events since the Sept. 11 attacks. He said he would provide classified details of all of them to the committee Wednesday.
Maybe you did but, I think that number is specious at a minimum but, the more important point is you violted the 4th amendment of untold numbers of Americans.
No Effing way for you to White Wash that issue.
You have no legitimate right to my private communications.
Your continued use of the word METADATA is lie by obfuscation.
I privately own my communications equipment and the various identities associated with it such as the telephone number, email address, Wed site address, VPN in it's various forms, Fax and the number, MPLS network, Frame Relay network, Mac Address, CLLI, CPNI, CID and on and on and on.
Further, I contracted with private businesses to manage those elements, which I personally own, who then transmit my ID to a distant machine before further information is transmitted by voice or packetized information.
When my phone sits idle it is still comunicating a Keep Alive session to constantly enable me to be connected to a service, by a provider, I privately contracted with.
The equipment and services that enable this connection are privately owned as well and send back a keep alive connection.
How is this done?
My phone is a simple gateway device. That is, it is constantly knocking at the door of the Gatekeeper of any network I may be connected to and is constantly keeping my connection alive by means of Identity and password.
My phone's identity is constantly transmitting its unique device ID and a secret password assigned to the phone, by the service provider, enabling me and my phone to constantly and in an autonomous state.

THE DAILY CRAPOLA:
The NSA [testimony] has "acquired" millions of phone numbers,
-they just only "use" one or two when they can get a search warrant for those one or two numbers.
They need to have the "whole haystack" in order to find one needle.
Sorry horses "acquire" hay and "use" it by eating it.
It`s doubletalk deja vu.
These goons are taking Americans on a wild out-of-control runaway horseride.
They must be stopped as this haystack did not stop the Boston bombers.
It is a useless device and a violation of the U.S. Constitution since it only spies on Americans and not on muslims.
duuuuhhhhhhh.
The NSA said that the NSA database doesn`t have telephone number messages, emails etc.,
Ergo there exists a secret internet & phone database of everyone`s info, an "Area 51 top-secret database" which "doesn`t exist"..
It just ain`t the NSA database.
"Sorry NSA- we ain`t that stupoid.

It sounds like NSA is wrongly spinning the private information that they are obtaining without a warrant as the “probable cause” to justify getting the information in the first place.
