No, I think Cheney was right as he pointed out...all of North Africa is now on fire, and fertile breeding grounds for the murdering moslem hoardes, especially with the assistance of Obama enabling the elimination of the despot "safety valves" on those pressure cookers.
The unspoken reality is, those dictators (The Shah, Hussein, Kadaffy, Mubaric, A$$head etc) is they were evil bastards, but they were "our" evil bastards....holding down the very animals we are dealing with in the "War on Terror".
The proper way to deal with any one of them, who got out of hand, was to take him out, and replace him with another. Carter and Obama frigged up this concept, either through stupidity or deliberate design.
bray, I must say I am surprised with your endorsement of Mr. Cheney.
In my opinion he too is a Big G’ment Elitist. I did not hear one thing from him today complaining about the size / scope of G’ment. Only issue he had is that Mr. Obama was not to be listened to. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Not what I expect from someone who supposedly believes in the Constitutional limited G’ment concept.
And yes there are always a few exceptions - Ted Cruz comes to mind.
Some Repubs (those part of the political class) want it because they are bought and paid for by corporate interests. When you have the Chamber of Commerce, Rupert Murdoch, the Koch brothers, and Hannity, among others on the same page with the Center for American Progress, La Raza, MALDEF, Soros, Schumer, Durbin, MSM, labor unions, etc., then it is apparent what is going on here. Mark Zuckerberg created two phony political organizations, one liberal and one conservative to push this bill. He is the one funding the commercials on Fox and Rush Limbaugh.
Motivated by parochial self-interest, the pro-mass immigration, open borders, amnesty advocates have formed a powerful coalition including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, labor union leaders, the Catholic Church, ethnic and racial groups, moderate Republicans, and the Democrat Party. The common thread that unites these groups is power, money, and the prospect of increased constituencies, even at the expense of our long-term national interests and survival.
I liked what he said about Benghazi which is the real scandal. He has to defend his monitoring program, but in hindsight and the possibility for misuse is wrong.
We need someone willing to really turn this country around and ignore the pundiots.
Thanks so much for the link!! Its 7 minutes well spent. Breitbart was a true American hero who dared wage war on the DBM and was assassinated for doing so.
We should keep his memory alive.
I saw that: "Immigration needs to be fixed"
I yelled back at the TV; "No it doesn't, the border needs to be fixed, idiot!"
I think Snowden failed to follow the well know formula/established pathway for waging a whistle blower war after witnessing what whistle blowers before him had suffered. I’m not saying he’s the next coming, just saying lots of what he did may be understandable. Yet, I still don’t know what his true motive is.I can’t see into his mind.
Wow,looks like it will be interesting times ahead.
You have a better take on it than I. I can’t begin to guess what the future will portend.Too much of our lives/the country is just too screwed up.
So, did he betray the American People or the gubmint? Right now, the government is the enemy of the people.
It all depends on whose ox is being gored.
Thanks buddy always great to hear from you. For me it gets even clearer when told by the late Andrew Breitbart above at post #81.
God, I hope you are wrong.
Time will tell though. The last good Texas Senator was Phil Gramm. I have much hope that Mr. Cruz will be a limited G’ment type
I agree. But whatever the motivations of Snowden are and whether he should be considered a traitor or a spy, what we really need to focus on is the government and these surveillance programs that threaten our liberties in the name of protecting us from terrorism. We need a national dialogue on these heretofore unknown programs that Snowden termed, “turnkey tyranny.” We can kill the messenger, but the issue remains.
Remove the R or D from the Washington politicians and look at their records and speeches and interviews.
You would be had pressed to determine which were R’s and which were D’s for about 95% of them.
Once they have the info and can diagnose who is who how do they go about changing the vote? Pushing it their way? Isn’t it just stolen anyway?
Thanks for the graphic. It has a ton of information in it and shows specific problems we’re going to have in the future.
I don’t know how you get things like this but I wish I could have a copy of your hard drive to use when I argue our side.
Thanks, again.
My guess is Boehner et all have been brainwashed into believing that conservatism no longer is the way the future.
They think a modified liberal/conservative/middle road is the future to winning elections instead of standing for conservative values.
This is a short term corporate profits or nada attitude. It sacrifices the country for a few pieces of gold now and no country in 20 years.
