Dems gave him a few crumbs---"allowed" him to insert a couple nice-sounding provisions to assuage the nay-sayers...to make himself look good---which he stupidly figured would enhance his prez ambitions on both sides of the issue.

Dems took him down so easily... they played on Rubio’s natural sweetness. They did the same to Bush the first - ruined him by getting him to raise taxes - then used it against him.
If Rubio runs, the dems will use his assistance to them against him. Charming little rattlesnakes.
