Good evening, ML!
*HUGS*
I'm just getting off Facebook talking with my Aunt, who is only three years older than I am, about the times we had together on the Jersey Shore (Wildwood) in 1962. What a Summer that was! My cousin and I would wake at 5:00 every morning and go down to the Boardwalk where we met a guy - Irving Zazlo - who arrived with a station wagon full of newspapers from New York, Philly, Baltimore and Washington. We would set out over the sands at about 8:00 and start selling - we paid Irving for the papers up front and resold them at a higher price, of course. At the time we were getting 15 cents for the New York Daily News and the New York Mirror. I remember one guy complaining about the price for the Daily News - said it was a rag-eater for a nickel.
We'd finish up before noon and head back to the bay for some crabbing. What a time! I was fourteen years old then.
