Gallup: Americans are stupider than we ever imagined.
Not surprising. I mean, they did vote for obama — twice.
Out of work, crap economy, defeated, socialized... numb.
LLS
Look at the difference between Repubs and dems in the numbers paying attention to these important issues. Wow...
Can’t the dems take time out from ogling porn and devote a few minutes to learning something constructive?
OK. 46% not following closely or at all. Would they be the 47% of “takers” mentioned by Mr. Romney? Hey, it’s only off by 1%, which is statistically insignificant, right?
Not very surprising. Bear in mind a large amount of the people not following, don’t follow ANYTHING. They don’t vote. They read celebrity magazines
But they all know who won American Idol last night.
Calls were made to 0bamaphones.
Below average?? Really?? It is because nobody in the LSM is talking about it — only Fox...
Don’t care. Wrong is wrong, and wrong should pay when they are wrong. It’s only right.
Stupid voters aren’t paying attention. Oh well.
But avoiding PRISON is a great motivator.
There will be lots of motion as people try to arrange not to be the guy who goes to PRISON.
These scandals are rapidly growing in the publics eye. Just last week PEW RESEARCH polling indicated serious interest among Americans in the mid 40’s.
Sad. This has NO traction. None. GOP blowing it.
The IRS story broke on Friday, 10 May. Friday stories are notorious for not getting much attention, and this one was not more than a brief acknowledgement that there was some truth to the claim that Tea Party groups had been marked for extra questioning.
This poll was then conducted the next week on Tuesday and Wednesday, after only a few days, including a weekend. For perspective, it was not until Wednesday evening that Obama got on the TV over the scandal. That means the attention that such an appearance might draw came after many of the poll respondents had already been contacted. That is not a lot of time for the story to spread, and still 54% were somewhat or very interested in following the story. That 54% was characterized by Gallup as “well below average” which they say is 60% for other stories over the last few decades. Nonsense spin.
Yet, after only those few days 74% said there should be more investigation of what happened.
This story can easily be expanded and extended.
73% are tuned in on Fantasy Baseball
81% are tuned in on Brittney Spears’ plans to have another baby
85% are tuned in on analysis of the latest Star Trek movie
93% are tuned in on American Idol results
Just like their IQ’s
I wonder, how many were paying attention to Watergate when it first broke.
