OTOH, if a fat lady greets you at the door, you have to figure there must be some good food inside!;)
Thomas Sowell brilliantly explains why the minimum wage is harmful to employment, and why the whole concept is flawed from the get-go.
It’s interesting that liberals simply cannot understand why minimum-wage jobs are not meant to be career choices.
Without the benefit of Dr. Sowell’s explanation, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the deleterious effects on employment for young people if the minimum wage is increased.
It all boils down to the concept that liberals think money grows on trees. They think it’s just there for the picking…
It’s for both jobs. Regardless, 17 bucks an hour for a 19 year old is pretty good.
A grad with a degree in Womyns studies can do something like that and make 30k a year to start. That gets them out of the house and they can start to pay off their school loan.
Unfortunately that ski trip to Vail and shopping for clothes on 5th avenue will have to wait.
