Shock poll: Wealthy, not middle class, support Obama
Washington Examiner ^ | May 1, 2013

President Obama's approval numbers are starting to mimic Mitt Romney's.

According to a new YouGov poll, it's the rich -- not the poor or middle class -- who back Obama more despite his 2012 campaign attacking the rich.

The poll for the Economist found that fewer than half of those with incomes less than $100,000 per year approve of Obama's performance, while he enjoys a 54 percent approval rating among those with incomes higher than that.

Those earning less than $40,000 a year disapprove of the president's performance, 51 percent to 45 percent. Those earning $40,000 to $100,000 disapprove by a rate of 50 percent to 48 percent.

"A largely jobless recovery coupled with a Quantitative-Easing-fueled stock market rally seems to earn more smiles from the upscale among us, fewer from the working class," said the pollsters.

So what's new? The wealthy industrialists supported Hitler and the wealthy (German) bankers supported Lenin & the Bolsheviks

After looking over the details of the study, I think the conclusions reached by the authors cannot be considered valid based on the sampling methodology and the built-in margin of error. It “could” be true, and then again it could be “not true”. ie garbage.

President Obama's approval numbers are starting to mimic Mitt Romney's.

Cheap shot at Romney + inaccurate reporting.

In the 2008 campaign, Obama led among high income voters in his race with Hillary Clinton and (by most counts) in his race with John McCain.

There's nothing really new here, and nothing that justifies kicking Romney's corpse (except maybe for people who believe that kicking it is always justified).

I find it very hard to believe Obama doesn't garner a solid majority of support from the truly poor.

I'm talking about career poor, not elderly, not those just starting out. In many parts of the country and in certain age demographics, 39k isn't 'poor'.

Not many government employees making under $40,000 per year. Plenty with household incomes over $100,000.

48% approval is pretty good — for the worst president ever. Shows what the power of misinformation can do.

There has never been a revolution in any country where there has been a strong middle class. Obama is trying to destabilize the middle class.

Why would Baraq want a revolution? He's firmly in charge and all signs point to Democrat control for the forseeable future.

If you don’t like the word ‘revolution’ you can call it ‘fundamental change’.

The democrats have totally convinced the left and uneducated Americans that the GOP is made up only of rich white people who want to get their hands on everybody else’s money! What a crock! For years the biggest donors and the most high dollar donors have been democrats. Republicans make up mainly the grassroots. Not that there are no monied republicans, but we are for outnumbered by democrats. The saying that those who object the loudest are the real culprits is so true. They point fingers to take the exposure off themselves.
