Up to 74 girls in Afghanistan have been treated after a suspected poisoning attack at their school, officials said yesterday.
The girls became ill after smelling gas at their school, Bibi Maryam, in Takhar province's capital, Taluqan.
Many of the children remained in a critical condition in hospital last night.

I’m sure the National Organization for Women will be calling a press conference any minute now to loudly condemn this blatant attack against women.
They are committed to Speaking Truth To Power, and will not shrink from their responsibility in this case. The fact that the Taliban routinely kill people who speak out against them will - I am certain - not deter these brave Female Fighters, who did not shrink from attacking such frightful figures as Jesse Helms, James Watt, and Ed Meese.

There was a story last week about a school full of people, here in the US, getting sick... in PA I believe.
There have been numerous substantiated cases of mass poisonings of schoolgirls in Afghanistan by ultra-conservatives

Their crime?
Attempting to learn something and better themselves. A crime under ISLAM. Hence the vast intellectual devastation that represents the entire Islamic world.

Hmm, ultra-conservatives. Ironic that “taliban” basically means students, but they would rather kill girls than to let them learn anything.
