Oh...that’s frustrating & sad!
A few years ago I was in line at the store behind a gentlemen wearing a vet’s hat. He was complaining about the price of a small desert item.
I offered to pay for it & the transaction was completed.
When I walked out to the parking lot he drove off in a brand new Lexus.
Not indicative but it was a funny experience!:)
Been there....you did a good deed, regardless.
