Santamaría says he was trying to do the right thing by following the rules.
In other words, this kid has more regard and respect for the laws of the United States than most US politicians - nearly every Democrat and most Republicans.
Meanwhile, because he has decided to abide by the laws of the nation he grew up in, he will have to wait until he's around 40 to finally acquire US citizenship legally, even though he apparently has the education and background to become a productive taxpayer tomorrow. Meanwhile, the illegals who bring nothing but demands on the US taxpayer are defended by armies of liberals.
We punish the worthy and law-abiding and reward the worthless law-breakers - we couldn't design our own downfall any faster.

Little hazy on the ‘facts’ but seem to remember a few years ago an ‘illegal mother’ was deported after being discovered she was illegal, while ‘searching for her benefits’ due to the death of her son who was KIA while a member of the US Army while in Afghanistan or Iraq.
Think a couple of Pols tried to intervene but don’t remember what the outcome was.
I realize she was illegal but considering the circumstances, she had paid her dues.
