Actually Gingrich didn't. His wife asked for the divorce.

Jackie Gingrich Cushman: About Newt’s ‘deathbed divorce’

However Sanford is well on his way on that road.

The thing that I never understand is if he cheated on his wife what makes this one think he won't cheat on her? Because he "loves" her? Didn't he "love" his wife when he married her?

I bet if Sanford lost tonight, the puta would have caught the first plane back to Buenos Aires.

She knows he’ll cheat on her, and that’s the glue that holds them together, among other sticky things. She’s low and Immoral, and doesn’t care. She’s been divorced and carried on their assignations with her own son in her home. And a lot of republican men, I’m sure, are very turned on by that, and what Sanford is getting away with.
