Kaufman Police Chief Chris Aulbaugh and other officials confirmed the reports that Mike McLelland and his wife, Cynthia, had been shot at their home near Forney. Their deaths follow the Jan. 31 slaying of Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse. “It is a shock,” Aulbaugh said late Saturday. “It was a shock with Mark Hasse, and now you can just imagine the double shock and until we know what happened, I really can't confirm that it's related but you always have to assume until it's proven otherwise.” He said the Texas Rangers were helping with the investigation at the McLellands’ home in an unincorporated part of the county, but that the sheriff’s department will be leading the investigation. “Because have to treat it as related [to the Hasse investigation], we'll be working side by side again,” Aulbaugh said. Authorities were also working Saturday night to confirm that other employees in the Kaufman County's district attorney's office were safe, and they believed that they had confirmed that everyone was accounted for.

Ok, the prison warden in Colorado, now this guy and his wife. Give us 5 more years and the illegal flood will make us exactly like Mexico where prosecutors, mayors, police chiefs, cops, etc are all hunted down and corrupted with money, or executed.

Thanks Bush and Obama.

I live just a few miles from the scene. Drugs, though, seem to be somehow related to the case. Drugs are everywhere around here. Concealed carry is also big around here.

I would like to think that the Rangers would live up to their long ago reputation for integrity.
But that was long ago.

Just damn. I have lived in Kaufman County since I was 4 years old. I am stunned speechless. Until tonight, I would have said this kind of stuff did NOT happen here. Now, I guess it does. Is it delated to ADA Mark Hasse’s murder 2 months ago? I don’t know. What I do know is if/when these rabid animals are caught, they should be put down IMMEDIATELY.

I doubt it. Probably just a corrupt official that got taken out.

It’s not the guilty person that you go after that is a threat. It’s the innocent one... The guilty ones do their time, the innocent ones hold a grudge.

The door was kicked in. Anybody can do that unless you have an iron security door. I do.

You mentioned this was likely drug related...refresh my memory on the Hasse case, was he recently prosecuting a big drug case? My guess is this is mexican cartel work.

I am guessing the local meth problem in Kaufman County is what’s behind this, not necessarily the Mexican drug problem.

They do bring their culture with them, unfortunately. But speaking as a liberal, they do vote democrat, so, border security is not important. Let em flood in by the millions. The more the better for the traitor party.

It is time to allow only one appeal for prisoners on death row.

Actually it would be more accurate to say it’s starting to be reported. I know a Mexican guy busted for a hit in So Cal in 2000. And that was FAR from the first. Thing was, he was the stereotype ‘great guy from/with a great family’. Except he actually WAS a good dude. Then money/drugs changed EVERYTHING.

I know you are just using sarcasm, but there is more than a grain of truth to what you are saying.
