More than 16 years after its founding and 11 years after it assumed its current perch as the most-watched cable news network, Fox News remains the favorite punching bag of the left. Liberals take it as an article of faith that Fox is not merely biased but a travesty that serious people should ignore. But the notion that there is something unholy about what is broadcast on Fox or that its mix of news and opinion is uniquely biased has never stood up to scrutiny.

I think I read that initially the network plans to go in to 10-15 million homes. That’s not a whole lot so it might be a while before we see it around here on cable. I agree with you about Comcast, chances are they won’t carry it. Direct TV or Dish TV may be the only way to get it at first.
But maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised! :)
Fox News’ sin has always been that they dared present more than one perspective...the libtard perspective.
They never have been a “conservative news channel” and never will be. Right wingers and left wingers hate Fox for the same reason, they present the other (both) sides.
The thinking person understands that if you only have time to watch one broadcast — AND you want to get multiply perspectives — then you have to watch Fox. Of course, you have to watch more than one of their shows, but you can get multiple views from the one network. The same cannot be said about ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN...etc. etc.
Bingo!
As another non-boob-toob afflicted household I only see what people post to u-toob, whether it be Fox or any of the alphabet channel propaganda.
Did you read the LibTard comments on the bottom? The just skipped reading the whole article... typical,
The liberals mistakenly think that Fox News is Republican or conservative channel. I always snicker when I hear one of those bozo’s say it.
Liberals despise the fact that anyone is allowed to disagree with them.
Most of the libs who hate Fox have never watched it.
true dat
Yeah, but they heard from a friend of a friend’s neighbor that Fox reported something outrageous.
Man, I haven’t watched Fox news for years. I missed the early years when it was good and solidly conservative. They don’t even broadcast the News anymore — it is almost 100% opinion and analysis.
I would watch it if they went back to telling me “who, what, when and where”. Instead, it is all “why”. I don’t care “why”. I’ll figure that out on my own.
The only time I turn on Fox News is when there is a significant event and they are covering it faster and better than the internet.
I’m trying to think of the last time that was. I watched during Katrina. I watched on and after 9/11. That kind of thing.
Otherwise, what use to I have for Hannity/OReilly and the rest of the parade of GOP-e asswipes and the crop of “liberals” to balance them out.
Fox News is crap. I haven’t watched it regularly in a good 5 or 6 years. Never mind how they sold out conservatives the last election cycle.
I don’t want “fair” or balanced. There are dozens and dozens of liberal news sources. We need a hard conservative source to share that side of teh story.
I liked it when newspapers were clearly biased left and right. If you wanted balance, you read both and then made your own estimate of the truth by reading between the lines.
Fox News is no longer conservative enough to get me the “right” side of the story. The last time it was that right was when they showed 500,000 Tea Party folks on the US Capitol Mall, while CNN made it look like 25 Nazi coocoos.
Fox carries on the RINO tradition of Richard M. Nixon in appealing to conservatives, while really being moderate and Rockefellerish.
Its also a sexy Murdoch operation in the tradition of his newspapers-pretty faces with pretty legs etc. etc. etc.
They cover stories that make liberal-leftists angry, so they will never please liberal-leftists.
Liberals hated moderates like Nixon, Ford, both Bushes etc.
Anything that is the right of Marx and Lenin is “conservative” in their mindset and must be destroyed.
....We need a hard conservative source to share that side of teh story......
The reason there isn’t one is because there are not enough people to support enough advertisers to the news source you envision viable. The problem is money.
Roger Ailes realized that simple but important fact when he developed Fox News. He is a good all round conservative individual but realized that to set up Fox as you would have it is not feasible. Rather than exploding and going to the top, it would have withered and died.
I think those that want to be ‘news’ reporters have to have a narcissistic personality streak - a good looks problem that gets all tied up with more money, good-looks and the I’m better than you’ type of pride... should be a special category just for them in the DSM book.
They never saw a mirror that they didn’t stop to admire.
I’ve never had “good looks problem.” More like a face for radio.
