I hate to say this but Notre Dame (and Georgetown) could have said no about covering up references to Christianity.

He may have asked it..they did not have to comply.

Oh, no. That “standing up for Christianity” stuff is for people from the Bible and the saints, not for the Georgetown folks who call themselves Catholic just for convenience and fooling the students, certainly not for the USCCB (’affectionately” known in some Catholic circles as the United States Country Club of Bishops).

Take heart, seminaries are filling with young authentic Catholics, ditto convents with habit wearing nuns who understand religious persecution.
