The fatal shooting of Colorado's top prisons official when he answered the front door at his house highlights a troubling reality for the nation's judges, prosecutors and other legal officials: At a time when attacks on them are rising, it's difficult for them to remain secure, even when they are off duty.
Investigators do not yet know why Tom Clements, 58, was shot around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home just north of Colorado Springs. They could not rule out any possibilities, including that it was a random shooting or that it was an attack related to Clements' job, authorities said.
While small in numbers, similar attacks on officials have been increasing in the U.S. in recent years, said Glenn McGovern, an investigator with the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office in California who tracks such incidents worldwide. He said there have been roughly as many in the past three years - at least 35 - as the entire prior decade. Revenge is usually the motive, he added.

Um, his residential information would NOT be published anywhere. Also, it would not be accessible at the courthouse. Almost all policemen’s residential information is NOT public record. This was a professional hit.

The only thing that protects oathbreakers, in reality, is the longsuffering of the American people, and our reticence to take life while abuses can still be suffered. I have five cops living in my neighborhood and everyone of them is listed on the assessors’ website. Not arguing if this was a professional hit or not, but obtaining public information on people’s residences is not difficult in El Paso county.

I saw this in Central America. The gangs, particularly MS-13, have the ability to destabilize a democracy using these tactics. The prison wardens and guards are particularly vulnerable.
Old-time US criminals NEVER carried out revenge attacks on law enforcement: it drew too much heat. But now, between international terrorism and the Mexicifation of America, this may change: Mexican gangs have been fierce in retaliating against/intimidating Mexican officials and police. Why would they not try it here? Quick , let’s legalize 11 million illegals. We had a great country once: it is being destroyed from within by selfish, unpatriotic politicians. The Democrats are the worst—there is not a real American among them now—, but many Republicans no better. God help us.
Nothing fishy with that...that’s how the tax is assessed in CO. One of the only remaining benefit of living in Colorado is our low property tax. Give the liberals some time and they’ll find a way to screw us on that as well. My home’s assessed value is 420k and yearly property tax is about 2200.
If you click on all of the neighbor’s property, you’ll see similar rates.
I looked up my own information:) My assessed value of my home per the tax man is 26830 (which is what the mill rate for taxes is pulled from) and market value is 400k

Sadly, it may well come to that. Don't know that this guy "deserved" it, or why he got it.
But when the oppressed finally decide that the oppressors are never going to let up, just get worse and worse, they might well make it open season on elected officials and executive/administrative bureaucrats.
As the US (should have) learned in Nam & the Soviets in Afghanistan, guerrilla warfare is nearly impossible to beat. It's like playing Smack a Mole. Something DHS, with all of its hubris, is going to discover when it clamps down on the general populace. And it will. When, not if.

FWIW, the County Sheriff, Terry Maketa, is in the middle of the opposition to the worthless gun laws signed today.
