COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The only emergency room doctor in South Carolina's Legislature says frustration over Republicans' refusal to accept Medicaid expansion led to a flippant comment that was taken out of context.
Florence Republican Rep. Kris Crawford said Thursday he was telling a group of doctors the fight over Medicaid was a political one. He says his comment that, quote, "it is good politics to oppose the black guy in the White House" was not racial, and that he was wrapping up his explanation that the vote's not over health care policy.

AND I am not a racist. MLK said all I ever needed to hear - “I look for a day when my little children can be judged by the quality of their character, not by the color of their skin.” I am judging Obama on the LACK of quality of his character, and I stand firm.

He should be corrected; he’s not a “black guy”; he’s a “Mulatto”. (A term from the book “Tom Sawyer” is more accurate, but it’s not polically-correct. I got yelled at here last time I used it, on political-correctness grounds.
This article is right in that we don't want to give Liberals a convenience excuse to throw racism in our face, but they're going to do it irregardless of how far we bend over for them.
