The White House announced Tuesday that it is canceling tours of the president’s home for the foreseeable future as the sequester spending cuts begin to bite and the administration makes good on its warnings of painful decisions.

Announcement of the decision — made in an email from the White House Visitors Office — came hours after The Washington Times reported on another administration email that seemed to show at least one agency has been instructed to make sure the cuts are as painful as President Obama promised they would be.

A low blow! How could they do this to me?? If I can’t — if I can’t visit Obama’s home — I just don’t know what I’ll do!! This sequester was a bad idea! I just knew it! Knew it! Knew it! Knew it!

“We have gone on record with a notification to Congress and whoever else that ‘APHIS would eliminate assistance to producers in 24 states in managing wildlife damage to the aquaculture industry, unless they provide funding to cover the costs.’ So it is our opinion that however you manage that reduction, you need to make sure you are not contradicting what we said the impact would be,” Mr. Brown, in the internal email, said his superiors told him.

This should be on the front page of every paper in America. Instead, we know exactly where it's going.

If memory serves me correctly, they did this before with the national park service. These people are public servants but instead of being helpful they inconvenience us to get their way. Go ahead and ruin countless vacations to make a point - just don’t count on us to forget. It is time to clean house and get some citizen politicians in office with management skills.

The problem as I see it is a general problem in that through all the years no one felt it would be necessary to set forth rules how a POTUS is to conduct the Administration. Everyone simply assumed we would always be dealing with honorable people.

Nobama saw this as a weakness that is easy to exploit and sort of hits most citizens in the gut.

Now that he has been refused, its time to pour it on until enough people or the right people holler UNCLE.

I see his action as one that could easily alienate even his base, except the percentage that is expecting the free-est ride or those standing to make a boat-load of money from the disarray.

Thomas Sowell describes this strategy:

Back in my teaching days, many years ago, one of the things I liked to ask the class to consider was this: Imagine a government agency with only two tasks: (1) building statues of Benedict Arnold and (2) providing life-saving medications to children. If this agency's budget were cut, what would it do?

The answer, of course, is that it would cut back on the medications for children. Why? Because that would be what was most likely to get the budget cuts restored. If they cut back on building statues of Benedict Arnold, people might ask why they were building statues of Benedict Arnold in the first place.

The White House announced Tuesday that it is canceling tours of the president’s home for the foreseeable future as the sequester spending cuts begin to bite and the administration makes good on its warnings of painful decisions.
Rush mentioned that Louis Gomert's amendment to the continuing resolution to cut off funds for 0's golf outings until the tours start again was spiked.

Spiked by republicans.

Of course they will do this. Expect them do things that will delay airlines flights and other things that will get people angry.

There should be a sunset provision on every single spending provision. CUT THEM OFF. They are addicts..

That caught my eye, too. The Obama ‘home,’ within the WH, the First Family’s living quarters, is never part of the public tours, either. It’s all public rooms, with tours led by volunteer, not federal employee.
