Rachel Maddow Busted Using Multiple Fake Twitter Accounts To Boost Mentions Of Her Show
Twitter ^ | 3/1/13 | @LeftyBollocks

Posted on 03/01/2013 8:36:47 PM PST by icwhatudo

A poster on Twitter, upon seeing what he thought were very similar posts referencing MSNBC host Rachel Maddow's show, did some searching and found out that Maddow has been using phony twitter accounts to boost her "mentions" on the popular website.

As can be seen by screenshots collected by a tweeter named @LeftyBollocks, Maddow has massive amount of accounts posting the exact same claim that "Confession: I yell at my TV while watching Rachel #Maddow talk about filibuster reform in the same way most people do during football."

With so many supposedly unique accounts mentioning her name, the term #Maddow has quickly risen to the top of trending topics on twitter-something @LeftyBollocks found odd since her show has so few viewers.

It's an issue.

If it wasn't an issue Maddow wouldn't bother being a fake... You know that.

She's counting on people believing her lies - believing Twitter lies... It's like all the dem trolls - and their rent-a-crowd tactics. They hire people off Craig's List to 'protest' too. One lie after another. All meant to trick their own supporters. Yeah, we know they're lying. Who do you think Maddow's 'target' is? It's the liberal idiots who dems always play for fools.

It's all a lie - and Dem paid shills are liars too.

If everyone was as cynical - or knowledgeable as you are tenger - Rachel and dems wouldn't spend a dime pushing the liars they have to pay for... You don't think she makes all these posts do you? She pays the same lowlife trolls the rest of the dems pay. Dems do this because they're trying to play citizens for fools. That's how little respect they have for everyday citizens.

You know that, right? Dems don't pay trolls for nothing...right?

To: icwhatudo; Revolting cat!

I overheard some programmers discussing how to flood twitter trends (don’t know if it was a class project or something else).

Only people who should be affected are those who go to the record store with no idea what they should buy until they see what the top ten lists tells them to buy. Same with seeing movies.

This culture is so fixated on “what’s hot right now!” publicity releases. Who gives a f**t what movie had the biggest boxoffice take this weekend? If you don’t have points in the profit or a shareholder stake in the studio, it matters not.

Wow she looks just as androgynous with long hair and jewelry, note the squared forehead around the eye brows and the rather thick neck.

I wouldn’t blame Maddow for this, as fun as it might be to do so (and think it’s disingenuous for the article to do so): I’ve seen publicly released reports by my own company, completely apolitical stuff, become the subject of similar tweets, where dozens of accounts tweet the exact same thing containing a link to my content. I know I’m not doing it (and it’s a three person company and the other two people know absolutely nothing about Twitter.) I’ve seen the same thing happen with blog posts, too: sites just steal content and pretend it’s their own.

remember there are companies that take payments for doing that, I think even Newt Gingrich got caught doing it a while back.

Spam on #maddow hashtag is not coming from the show or any producers. Have reached out to Twitter to investigate Details

(Just like the decision to release the criminal illegals wasn't Obama?)

per this NYT article, he and Romney have been accused but both have said they didn’t:

“Fake Twitter followers briefly made the news in July, when Mitt Romney’s Twitter following jumped by more than 100,000 in one weekend — a much faster rate than usual. A flurry of news reports purported to expose the practice of buying followers. “Romney Twitter account gets upsurge in fake followers, but from where?” read a headline on the NBC News Technolog blog.” (The Romney campaign has denied it bought followers.) Similar claims were lobbed at Newt Gingrich last year; his campaign also denied that he paid for any of his 1.3 million-strong Twitter following.”

Well that’s good enough for me. They must be real. I wouldn’t even think that there could be such a thing as paid shills.

Maybe they should “reach out” to their own payroll people. “What’s this check for, who is this ‘Beeks’ fellow?”
