Newtown shooter motivated by Norway massacre, sources say

Law enforcement sources say Adam Lanza was motivated by violent video games and a strong desire to kill more people than another infamous mass murderer.

Sources say Lanza saw himself as being in direct competition with Anders Breivik, a Norwegian man who killed 77 people in July 2011.

Breivik killed eight with a bombing in downtown Oslo. He then moved to a nearby island where hunted down and fatally shot 69 people, mostly teenagers attending a summer camp.

Two officials who have been briefed on the Newtown, Conn., investigation say Lanza wanted to top Breivik's death toll and targeted nearby Sandy Hook Elementary School because it was the "easiest target" with the "largest cluster of people."

Evidence shows that his mind, sources say, Lanza was also likely acting out the fantasies of a video game as he killed 20 first graders and six adults at the school. For Lanza, the deaths apparently amounted to some kind of "score."

Anyone know when detailed and factual information will come out on this tragedy? Things like was there a gun safe in the home of the kid's mother, did he have any meds or controlled substances in his system at the time of the shooting, information on ejected high capacity magazines and the number of rounds fired from them and/or the number of rounds still within the magazines, details on the computer hard drive that he destroyed and its contents.

All of the strick new laws regarding medical privacy such as HIPAA make it incredibly difficult to release medical information, even about the deceased, such as their prescription drugs.

This is what people wanted but then when there’s a case where people desperately want medical information about someone, then they’re upset.

According to this report, Report on Adam Lanza's Motive in Sandy Hook Shooting "Simply Not Factual": Police that motive is "simply not factual," State Police Lt. Paul Vance told NBC Connecticut.

However, the report goes on to say this:

........."An unnamed law enforcement official told NBC News that Lanza had collected material on previous mass shootings. "But there was nothing that outlined his plans or said he that was trying to outdo a previous shooting," the source to NBC News.

According to the Hartford Courant, investigators found news articles about Breivik in Lanza's bedroom, but are only looking as the 20-year-old's interest in Breivik as one possible theory. ".................

So, that's where the speculated motive came from.

Well, one of the few interviewed children acknowledged that the entire "shooting" was really a drill. Another child indicated that there was a lot of "banging on the walls," but never mentioned the distinct sound of gunfire during his interview. Out of the mouth of babes shall come the Word of God...

Add those two facts into the litany of terrible actors and pathological liars posing as "grieving families" and "witnesses" like Gene Rosen, Sally Cox, Soto's "brother" and so forth....
