I bet there are some staffers who are none too happy she is bringing this kind of scrutiny upon them right before they start trimming other people's paychecks - especially a lot of veterans. When the Deputy Defense Secretary and all five member of the Joint Chiefs testified to the House Armed Services Committee, Rep Duncan Hunter (R-CA), lost his temper and his mind. He went off on the Joint Chiefs, telling them that the deep defense cuts that Congress has levied on them with sequestration (defense has to absorb 50% of all the cuts by law) are "partially" their fault and they have to "share the blame."
I am not joking.
I found that soooo ironic. Here was a member of Congress who voted for the flipping law, screaming at 5-star generals who were telling him these deep cuts were going to hurt the military.
What a circus.
It was akin to this:
I stole your analogy (post #24). Too clever - wanted to give you credit.
5-star generals................ MacArthur, Bradley, Marshall, Eisenhower, and Arnold are still alive?
