Some Trader Has Made A Very Big Bet That Something Very Bad Will Happen Within The Next 60 Days

Stocks have been rallying relentlessly to post-crisis highs.
Meanwhile, the volatility index (aka the VIX, aka the "fear index") is near historic lows.
But according to UBS's Art Cashin, some options trader has made an enormous $11.25 million bet that the VIX will explode higher very soon.
And a rally in the VIX is usually accompanied by a drop in the stock markets.

A Very Big Bet In A Somewhat Unlikely Instrument – My friend, Jim Brown, the ever-alert consummate professional over at Option Investor pointed us to a rather unusual trade. Here's what he wrote in last night's edition of his valuable newsletter:
In past years I have reported on trades that were so large it appeared someone had inside knowledge of a pending event. Sometimes those were massive put positions on the S&P. A new trade just appeared that suggests there will be a market event in the near future. Last week somebody put on a call spread on the VIX using the April 20 and 25 puts. They bought 150,000 contracts for a net of $75 per contract. That is an $11,250,000 bet that the VIX will move over 20 over the next 60 days. You would have to be VERY confident in your outlook to risk $11 million on a

Jim then goes on to list some of the scheduled events and deadlines visible over the next 60 days (mostly in Washington). When you add in the broad variety of geo-political possibilities, it's a decent reason to stay extra alert.
Hopefully, this person is wrong.

The only way to get this under control without a total collapse would be to ‘grow’ our way out. The problem is that growth requires incentive, and incentive is what this administration is best at suppressing. Who wants to work incredibly hard and make lots of sacrifices if at the end of it all you’re told, “you didn’t build that”, and “you aren’t paying your fair share”? It’s the common thread that runs through all socialist failures, the suppression of incentive.
That $11.25 million bet expires in April...money will be gone, zero, zip, nada. It is a serious bet because it has expiry date. It is much much different than buying stocks worth $11 million. Stocks go up or down but they seldom go to zero.

The whole of western civilization is like a man who kept getting bigger and bigger raises and always borrowed even a little bit more to live the standard “to which he was acustomed.” Problem is that he eventually got to a $250 an hour job (with accompanying debt) and was laid off. And he finally found a job that pays $25 an hour. There is no $250 job out there and won’t be again. But the debt remains.
There will be blood. In fact, the cop they are searching for in California right now is the type of thing that increases under these conditions.

I’ve asked myself what’s the point of talking now, aside from just comforting each other in our loss of a great country. But I think the rest of the coup is coming soon, and we need to be prepared. I think the sheriffs who have come straight out and said that they will not grab guns if ordered to do so, the states who are banning drones and otherwise resisting parts of the coup, etc are slowing down the full coup. But it may end up meaning that they use an EMP attack and/or biological warfare to get rid of us rather than a straightforward civil war, direct and open gun grab, or capture into “re-education” camps. That’s basically what the public schools are right now already, for the kids. They can’t necessarily force the parents to the same thing, unless maybe through their kids.
Probably through claims of mental instability; that’s the communist addition to the alliance, whereas the Islamist one would just behead us and be done with it. If they can read all our medical records it’s just a matter of time before they can write into our medical records whatever they want to. My own doctor’s office has changed their consent-for-treatment form so that it allows medical records to be used for “Homeland Security” purposes, to keep the President safe. Sounds to me like they’re claiming the right for Janet Napolitano to snoop in and/or change whatever she wants and then act on it (drones, anybody?) however she wants, as long as she can say it is to keep the President safe. The same reason they gave for creating a totally fabricated birth certificate for Obama. If fabricating a birth certificate isn’t too far for DHS to go, then altering medical records and using it as a basis to institutionalize, drug, or kill somebody also isn’t too far for them to go.
It wasn’t just Obama’s birth record that they fabricated. They also altered at least 3 other birth records from August 1961. And there isn’t even any legal pretext they could use for doing so. There is no way they could claim that Virginia Sunahara needed to be given a new BC, with a new BC#, in order to keep her safe. She’s already dead. And that is the only place the law allows for a BC# to be issued other than the one originally issued when a person’s BC was first accepted/numbered by the HDOH. There is no legal justification for the alteration of the other (at least) 3 Aug 1961 BC#’s.
IOW, they are ALREADY altering medical records in order to “keep the President safe” - without any law authorizing them to do so.
Don’t know about seeing you butterdezillion, but I’ll sure as heck show up for them “homemade buns and fresh coarse-ground weiners from the butcher” ;>)

I would be happy to feed you, but I can’t guarantee that anything I cook would be worth coming all the way to Nebraska for. I’ve been told I’m a good cook but it’s pretty standard meat-and-potatoes fare.
