Inquirer staff Posted: Thursday, January 31, 2013, 5:47 PM The son-in-law of Gov. Corbett, a narcotics officer with the Philadelphia Police Department, is under investigation by the FBI and was removed from the street today, sources said.
The Philadelphia Police department confirmed that a narcotics officer was taken off the street and placed on administrative leave Thursday, following the results of an FBI and Internal Affairs investigation. The department said it would not identify the officer because he had not been arrested or formally charged.
He was identified by sources as Gerold Gibson, Corbett's son-in-law. Gov. Corbett, attending a Chamber of Commerce event in Philadelphia late Thursday left without speaking to the media.
Gibson is married to Corbett's daughter, Katherine, who works as a deputy attorney general in the Philadelphia office making $69,700. She started in March of 2012, and as of late last year she was assigned to the office's Drug Strike Force section.
Previously, she had been employed by the Philadelphia District Attorney's office. She and her husband, who live in Northeast Philadelphia, have a one-year-old son.
Like most PA pubbies Corbett does some decent things but when push comes to shove he will tow the party line.
No more RINOs!
The hit piece on his kid means little if anything. How many spawn of dems get into trouble and there is no coverage...nothing is done, wink wink?
The fact remains. Corbett is not a conservative. He will bow to the RINO party. His performance at the PA Farm Show proved it.
Doesn’t anyone work in private industry anymore...?
This is just a sign that Corbett is up for re-election next year and the liberals are starting up the smear machine.
Corbett has been the best governor in PA for the past 3 decades.
We just moved here. If he’s the best this state has had, no wonder there are “problems”....
It’s not even his kid. Corbett isn’t the best but the left will do what they can to drag him down
He’s the best but not good enough. Not with the attacks on The Republic from the left and the RINO GOP.
69,000 ? really?
I have a feeling the son-in-law may be a Democrat..
Well, he is black - not that there’s anything wrong with that....
Ping to Philly.
This is a late response but Corbett has been, at best, a do-nothing governor. He has both houses of the legislature and has very little accomplishments. He is a RINO as well. I’m hoping for a credible primary challenger.
