Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is voicing confidence in the prospects for immigration reform in the House, saying that a bipartisan group of lawmakers basically [has] an agreement after more than three years of secret talks.
-snip-
Obama is preparing to launch a major push for comprehensive immigration reform with a speech in Las Vegas next week. Much of the spotlight has focused on the Senate, where a bipartisan group is reportedly close to announcing an agreement on basic principles for an overhaul of the system. That group now includes Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a potential presidential contender who laid out his principles for reform in the Wall Street Journal earlier this month.
Another potential White House aspirant, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), quickly signed on to Rubios outline.

Yay! 20 million new voters for serfdom and the welfare state.
Since its democratic, it must be good!
Done deal my ass.
Its been a done deal at least 3 times over the past decade.
Hey, you know what we could use here in America? An OPPOSITION PARTY. That would be cool.
Boner has 200 Democrat votes for Amnesty in the House so he only needs 18 RINOs from the 233 GOP House Reps to vote with the ‘Rats. It’s a done deal. That’s why Obama is going to Vegas next week to claim credit for the deal.
Agreed. Also, if it’s a “done deal”, then why does bambi have to go on the road to sell it?
Boner has 200 Rat votes in his pocket already. There’s nothing that can be done. Boner will give Obama his amnesty deal and a permanent Democrat majority as well as turn Texas into a swing state.
If it’s a done deal, we’re a done deal.
And noone is even talking about border security. How far we have fallen.
Boner has his orders.
As you see, the FR defeatist corps will accept nothing less than total defeat.
Excuse me, I must be missing something here. Who is this guy? Isn't he a member of some deliberative body? Does he have committees, chairmen, constiutents? Does he report to anybody?
... just ask'in...
The democrat welfare state overlords are licking their chops.
I hope the guffawing goofballs behave with a little dignity this time.
(They must have been thinking something like, "The public won't know what hit 'em until it's too late!")
...only RINOs and Dems will vote for amnesty and we have to remember them on primary and election days.
Boehner will once again ignore the “Hastert Rule.”
Even Paul Ryan has jumped to the front of the line with Rubio and said that he’ll support the Amnesty deal. I’m not being defeatist because we’ve already lost. Boner has his 18 RINO votes. There’s nothing that can be done now. That’s why Boner waited until after the election.
Is there anyone left in D.C. who is deserving of our respect and our votes?
This is probably a dumb question but: Since most Americans are against this why are both parties for it?
It helps the democrats get welfare votes, I understand this, but what do republicans get out of this?
Surely standing against this will get them support from white and black americans (and probably a fair amount of hispanic voters as they don’t want the job market flooded with these people either)
Well there’s no point in fighting it then is there?
Pathetic.
