It’s amazing this pops up now, pre-gun ban, when there were so many reports to the contrary after the event.
I don’t think there were “so many” reports to the contrary, there were just a bunch of reports citing this one NBC report. One mistake gets spread and amplified quickly.
I think what happened is the police never said that the Bushmaster was in the trunk, they said they recovered a “long gun” from the trunk, NBC was aware that a Bushmaster was recovered, but hand’t heard about the shotgun, and they autmatically assumed the Bushmaster was the “Long Gun.”
This isn't anything new.
The 'many'(sic) conflicting reports were based on one erroneous news story by a local NBC station tripping over itself to try to get the first story out. The official word has been pretty consistent it was done with the rifle. Unfortunately conspiracy sites have become more mainstream making up a bunch of s*** and not being critical of that initial media story.
Yeah. Almost as if they were either deliberately withholding the information when they first knew, or they are making it up as they go to suit the agenda of the minute...
It’s not just “popping up” now. The local cops have been saying this ever since they made their first statement about the weapons used, and have said the same thing ever since.
