With these numbers I’m pretty sure the gov’t WANTED the bad guys to understand not only that they wouldn’t negotiate, but that they would assault EXACTLY as if there were NO hostages at all.

With America going down the sh*tter, it’s hard to get excited about Algeria, Outer Mongolia etc.
“We” are not there just for the heck of it. Norway gets natural gas there, Spain gets half of its natural gas from Algeria, and in fact the normal people in Algeria rely on this industry. All of these things are tied into the global economy, which even affects us over here.
So essentially a band of crazed 7th century goons with 21st century arms is ruining things way beyond their local scope of destruction. They can’t be allowed to take over.
Well then, Norway and Spain need to attack Algeria in their national interests.
