Things must have changed ,then.
Okay, Thanks; it was worth a try.
Six-fer, not a record, but close!
Maybe someone should do it to them. Pick a few of the leftist idols and create a "disturbing" video game around them...
Just sayin'...
Why does your 14 year old have a computer with internet access in his room. That’s just asking for trouble.
I wouldn’t get too worked up about video game violence. Kids have been playing some version of cowboys and Indians long before there were cowboys and Indians and video games. People who commit mass murders are generally sick in the head - it’s something they’re born with (much like autism) that doesn’t always translate into violence, but occasionally does. It’s a force of nature you can’t really control. I wouldn’t worry about your son becoming a serial killer. Worry about him becoming a rabid liberal who blames killings on the desire of law-abiding gun owners to own guns to defend themselves rather the criminals who commit these killings.
Could be worse.
At least he wasn't fapping to pictures of Anthony Weiner.
Again.
I think the best bet for this is to let them taste their own medicine. Not by creating an equally vile game featuring individuals of the left, but by creating a rumor that this website has done so.
This plays of the ignorance and bile of those leftists not particularly Internet savvy, so their knee jerk response would be to attack these people, without confirming that such a “game” was in fact real.
I can well imagine such a “rumor of a game” pushing all sorts of liberal buttons, such as racism, homosexuality, abortion, Obamacare euthanasia, you name it. No limits to how grotesque or profane it could be, as it is imaginary, just a rumor.
Many years ago, there was a real such game, called “Custer’s Revenge”, and liberals had dog-strokes ranting against it, though few had actually seen it.

The amusing thing is that once a rumor is planted suggesting something of this sort, some twisted individual is likely to actually create such a game, distributing it anonymously.
Welcome to FR.
Sorry, I’m sure you are upset about the children in Newton but, violent video games aren’t the problem.
I play several versions of World at War and various other “violent “ video games
My level of violence is thus:
I won’t even kill a bee that somehow made it into my house or car. Poor little thing is dangerous but, not presently dangerous to me.
I’ll pick the Lil’ fellow up and free him from a place that is dangerous to him and take him outside. I do this barehanded and to this day I recall the 1st time I saw my Dad do the same and the lesson instilled on and in me.
That is “All life is precious and should be regarded as so. All things wish to live desperately so. I wish to live the same and should treat all life as I wish to be”.
All tthings and man himself are dangerous but May not be “presently” dangerous to me. As such, it my duty to respect their life unless or until the make themselves a clear and present danger and will cause me serious injury or end my life. Then upon evidence of danger to my continue existence here on earth and only then am I compelled to defend my life by any and all means to save myself and those I love, including other people I May not know.
The violence in video games is just play acting for boss and big boys and 99.999999% of us cannot act in violation of of our conscience. It’s a moral thing and we don’t have the capability to violate that moral law.
Hope this helps.
Pete:
I apologize for many of the comments that have been posted here. Free Republic used to be a serious posting board, but obviously that is no longer the case. I applaud your taking action and hope that your son learns that violence is not a game and that guns are a serious matter.
I responded but forgot to include you in my ping....
Been going awhile now... Just plain ol’ IBTZ.
This ping list is for articles of interest to homeschoolers. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping List. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added or removed from either list, or both.
The keyword for the FREE REPUBLIC HOMESCHOOLERS FORUM is frhf.
This is not the usual homeschool related topic but since it is available online, it is something homeschoolers need to be aware of.
Also pinging the Moral Absolutes list holders.
The moral decay in this country is way past acceptable and stuff like this website mentioned is not only a symptom, but feeding it.
Welcome aboard Pete, and thanks for sharing that with us. There will be parents grateful for the information.

“The violence in video games is just play acting..”
Joe Camel is rolling over in his grave. Well, he would be if he were dead...
I gave a 14 year old my coffee.
Haven’t seen him since.
He quit bugging me though.
