Oakland’s Radical Occupy Teachers Finally Reveal Their Goal: ‘Abolish Capitalism’
Townhall.com ^ | January 12, 2013 | Kyle Olson

At least the teachers of Occupy Oakland are finally being honest about their political agenda.

They’re openly calling for an all-out abolition of capitalism.

The Occupy Oakland Education Committee – comprised of public school teachers from the Oakland, California school district – has renamed its publication “ClassRoom Struggle” and its platform TEACH, which stands for “Transform Education, Abolish Capitalism and Heal.”

Finally the radical teachers have acknowledged what we’ve been saying all along: they want to end capitalism and replace it with a socialist economy, quite possibly enforced by a totalitarian form of government.

And what, precisely, is their strategy? They tell us that goal number one is to abolish “capitalist schools.”

“What we are calling to abolish is not education but rather capitalism,” the group wrote in a statement. “We see the struggle to abolish capitalist schools as one place where we can begin to chip away at capitalism’s grasp on our society. Capitalist tendencies run deep into the structure and politics of schools.

Operated the proper way, these schools have a great deal of potential for left-wing causes, according to the Oakland group.

“While public schools have served a role in developing white supremacist, capitalist and imperialist ideology and social structure (for example through segregated schools, tracked programs, mandated pledge of allegiance, etc.), they have also been key sites of struggle and served as assets for movements of working class students of color and other youth struggles,” the group wrote.

The last part is the scariest. They clearly want to encourage rebellious behavior among young student and recruit them into their anti-American movement.

The teachers have an absolute right to subscribe to any silly political theory they choose. That’s one of the great things about living in the country they hate. But many teachers in Oakland and throughout the U.S. have been using their classrooms as “assets” for their radical movements. They seek to brainwash youngsters into hating America and mistrusting the economic system that has given our nation a very high standard of living.

This proves what domestic terrorist-turned-professor Bill Ayers recently said: Radical leftist teachers have a great deal of influence in our schools, and they should use it to further the revolutionary cause.

SEE THE VIDEO HERE.

America will continue its slide toward socialism as long as radical activists like Ayers and the Oakland teachers are allowed to use our taxpayer-funded schools as bully pulpits and recruiting zones for their movement.

Stupid teachers ~ when you go to a single payer society, it's not likely you will qualify for your own jobs. The Party will have members more qualified who will always be more qualified no matter how hard you try.

The office they will send these leftists to writes and rewrites PARTY positions on all sorts of things, over and over and over, and one slipup you go to the Gulag.

That is NOT true. The individuals can believe in any idiocy they choose but they do not have any right to teach it. Thats why we develope curricula. I do not know how you do it exactly but we must re-establish community and local control over our kids educations. Yeah yeah yeah,,,homeschool is fine BUT the vast majority either cannot or don't have the skills to do it. AND our tax dollars pay for our own destruction and the destruction of our children's freedoms. It is past time to stop being passive and start fighting for our kids.

Instead of sending William Ayers to prison for the rest of his life, we decided to let him design lesson plans for teaching the teachers.

People who want Socialism have never lived in a Socialist country. The difference between Socialism and Communism is that the Government lets you think you still have a modicum of freedom. While they Nationalize everything. Then it turns into Communism where your Government tells you what you will do for work and then takes the money you make and gives you an ‘allowance’ on which to live. Incrementalism, thy name is DEMOCRAT.

AMEN! It might be about time that we realize we are under an assualt on our entire way of life and act accordingly.

Sitting passively and letting this stuff happen is not going to end up well.

What makes these geniuses think that they are capable of running the country after the colossal mess they have made of the education system in this country?

Do they think that students that can barely read and write will someday be able to feed themselves and operate the industries of the future?

This is as true in the Chicago school system as it is in Oakland. The Chicago teachers cadre is overwhelmingly Marxist in their politics.

Anybody with a brain knew the “occupy” movement was anti-capitalist. The media canonized them. Newsmags deified them. Leftist politicians give them a free pass to smoke, break laws, rape, defecate in store doorways and leave a mess.

Actually they know they won't and that is the goal. Nothing but mindless obedient drones.

The result will be famine. A la Mao.

"...replace it with a socialist economy, quite possibly enforced by a totalitarian form of government."

Well, yeah. That's the only way socialism/communism every lasts for any length of time, as it's completely contrary to human nature.

If these morons were actually educated rather than radicalized and "edumacated" the Party way, they'd know that one hell of a lot of the original vanguard Bolsheviks died face-down in the mud of destructive-labor camps. That's what happens to people who don't know what Solzhenitsyn and the other dissidents have been telling us about totalitarianism for 70 years.

Or as Ralph Waldo Emerson said about the New Harmony communists, "They look well in June. We shall see them in December."

We need to ABOLISH government owned and run, godless, single-payer, compulsory-use, socialist-funded schools.

Why? Because Government owned and run schools are the very definition of a godless socialist, single-payer, compulsory-funded, and compulsory-use SOCIALISM.

Returning **TOTAL** local control to **SMALL** communities might have some merit. Why?

Returning **TOTAL** control to very small units of the community ( Let's say,...Hm?....5,000 people) could be beneficial. These small local units could vote for vouchers, tax credits, and charters. Some brave communities might even have the courage ( **gasp**!) to trust **PRIVATE** charity to fund the education of its children.

As thousands of small communities experiment with the delivery of education to its children the best systems will emerge.

My bet? Government owned and run delivery of education will be left eating dust and the private systems will zoom ahead with astonishing levels of achievement.

Yeah! I am shouting, jumping up and down, and having a fit. Having socialist local schools is almost as bad as having state-wide socialist schools. What is needed is privatization. If local control gives small communities the power to move toward privatization of education then I favor it.

So? What’s the plan?

How about **immediately** removing your kids from the government’s single-payer, compulsory-funded, compulsory-attendance, police enforced, GODLESS SOCIALIST program schools? That would be a good start.

A friend of mine studied at Moscow U in his youth. There was a required course in socialism ~ every semester. This was roughly the same as those little 1 hr college requirements we have ~ for various things.,

You absolutely didn't want to fail that course or you would not get your degree.

One day he was given some homework ~ read a situation and using Hegelian logic come up with an appropriate party position!

So, he went to his Hegel book, analyzed the situation, wrote up a response, handed it in and was immediately drafted into the Red Army or 2 years.

They sent him to the Far East on the border with China.

His mistake was in failing to check the library files to find out that the party already had a standard position on that particular situation ~ and his response wasn't the same!

He asked me if people I knew here knew about Solzhenitsyn ~ I assured him the Republicans and Conservatives did, and they knew he was telling the truth, but the same could not be said of the Democrats. He'd been here only a short time but was of roughly the same position.
