I honestly see no logic in subsidizing people living in areas which are especially vulnerable to bad weather. On top of that, those areas (costal) are generally pretty affluent.

It’s bad enough we have effectively subsidized flood insurance, but aid on top of that is rubbish.

Tell that to the folks I know in one of the 10 poorest counties in Virginia that lost everything in the storm........

Oh and don't worry - you're not subsidizing any of them - our county was denied individual federal assistance.
