On March 13, 1996, 43-year-old Thomas Hamilton walked into an elementary school in Dunblane, Scotland, armed with four handguns. He shot and killed 16 children and one adult before committing suicide. The resulting media-driven petition campaigns and anti-gun activism led to laws being passed during the following year that effectively made private ownership of handguns illegal in Britain.
Since then, gun-related crime has increased by 89 percent in the United Kingdom.
Within hours of the first reports of the heinous massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., last week, it was evident that members of the gun-control lobby, dedicated leftist organizations and elements of the press were finding the circumstances of this crime simply delicious. I say that because of the alacrity with which they immediately initiated email barrages to their mailing lists and the shamelessly biased reporting of the shootings in the context of a need for swift and sweeping changes to Americas firearms laws.
It occurred so quickly that if I didnt know better, Id say they had their drafts and scripts prepared well in advance.
These tragedies must end. And to end them, we must change.
Barack Obama, Dec. 16, 2012
In an address advertised as intending to console residents of Newtown on Dec. 16 (I suppose one could call it a consolation address), President Obama furtively telegraphed his intention to advance gun-control legislation through more of his subtle tyranny. Like so many instances in the past, Obama peremptorily (though erroneously) circumscribed the problem, then alluded to more fundamental transformation being required to solve it, whether this involves the wholesale subordination of industrial sectors to the government, unconstitutional legislation, or dark-of-the-night, unpublicized executive orders.

Nothing subtle about it.
“subtle tyranny” - an oxymoron

One of worst of these drama queens, Carolyn McCarthy, though she hasn't been as vivible as most other gun-grabbers. Surprising because when she first ran for congress she exploited her own personal tragedy while her son was in intensive care and her husband assumed room temperature. Any sympathy I had for her was lost when, during an interview with Steve Malsberg, she flatly denied that Colin Ferguson was racially motivated, even though there was an abundance of evidence to the contrary, a factor that eventually led to his conviction. This was more pathetic than the time Mary Jo Buttafuco denied Joey was cheating on her. At least Mary Jo eventually wised up and divorced the SOB.
I stopped by my favorite central Florida gunstore today and it was packed - wall to wall - with men (and their wives/girlfriends?), all filling out forms for handgun purchases. After quietly listening in the background for a few minutes (and looking at their choice of firearms), I suspect that most all of them don’t know their a$$ from a hole in the ground. They’ll sign up for some $50, two hour “Uncle Billy-Bob’s Shootin’ School” BS CCW “course” given by the local gun show or gun shop troll. Tactical or emergency magazine exchanges, trigger trap and reset, ball and dummy drills - huh? Practice? Yeah, whatever...
And, when the time comes, they’ll line up like sheep to turn in their guns to the Gummn’t. I know - all too well. After the Dunblane tragedy, my British uncle turned in his WW2 Luger, and his dad’s WW1 broomstick Mauser: “We shouldn’t have these things around”. Two years later he was wining that hot robberies in his little rural town had gone up 300%. Duh.
These people have got to be reached by those of us who know better - to join pro-2nd amendment organizations - and to take training from responsible sources. Help!
The other night Mark Levin asked his audience to research “WHO” out of all our congress cretans and thier family members have guns. He played audio of Reid and Pelosi stating they carry for protection. HYPOCRITICAL A##CLOWNS on parade
One of the problems is that people now believe in magic. By electing the magic negro all of our fiscal, societal and racial problems will be solved. Uh-huh. By outlawing guns they will magically go away and we will have the dawning of the Age of Aquarius. This magical thinking is even on display by people who have shown themselves to be quite accomplished in their chosen fields and otherwise capable of sound logical thinking. But in the political arena, common sense is suspended and a childlike belief in magic is common among all the “intelligentsia”. I, for one, don’t understand it.
