Despite his calls for greater gun control, including a new assault weapons ban that extends to handguns, President Obama's administration has turned away from enforcing gun laws, cutting weapons prosecutions some 40 percent since a high of about 11,000 under former President Bush.

Of course he cut down on gun prosecutions — it would have wiped out most of his justice department.

Conclusion.

Wayne LaPierre - “I’ve come to believe he (Clinton) needs a certain level of violence in this country. He is willing to accept a certain level of killing to further his political agenda.

They have just been waiting for a disaster like this for an excuse to make more gun laws.
The left has planned this for a long time, they know what the answer is even before all the facts are in.
The fact that legally owned guns (by his mother) fell into the wrong hands must make them drool.

Why existing gun laws are not enforced? Could there be an <ahem> "racial inbalance" if they did?

...since Holder “is not going to prosecute” his homies, this shouldn’t be a surprise

Holder hasn’t been prosecuting gun violations among urban blacks.

TurboZamboni ~: “ exclude DC,Chicago,LA and Baltimore and we’d have the gun murder rate of Switzerland. “

What do these murder zones have in common : “libtard leadership “ where only the “utes” have guns .

I recall a news article from about 3-4 weeks ago that there was one day in NYC that there wasn’t a stabbing ,or shooting reported at any hospital. It made a news article because it was the first time that has happened in twenty years .
Imagine .. that that was a newsworthy article !

Exactly. Fast and furious was designed to kill.

Holder’s Discount Justice Store declines to prosecute blacks for crimes.

Holder’s Discount Justice Store prosecuting fewer than 60% of gun crimes.

What might we conclude (other than the possibility that the 40% in question actually refers to the thousands of innocent Mexican deaths from Holder’s Fast and Furious.)?

I saw a link to an interactive map of murders in Baltimore by demographic posted on this very board a couple of years ago. The map was provided by the Baltimore Sun (I seem to remember). It allowed for you to look at murders by zone, and by race and age. If you took murders by black youths in inner city Baltimore out of the picture, the murder rate was all but zero.

If that segment of our population would straighten up and stop killing each other, the case for concealed carry would all but vanish, since the murder rate would plummet.

That’s right and, because he hasn’t, law enforcement’s ability to investigate and prosecute many other, more serious crimes by urban blacks has, IMHO, taken a big hit.

Threr’s a strong “no snitchiing” culture in many urban black areas. Prosecuting gun crimes by urban blacks would seriously cut into this culture because many of those crimes are illegal carrying of one sort or another. A prosecutor can easily prosecute illegal carry or possession since he only needs to prove the possession and that it was illegal, someting that can often be done with no more than police testimony. Then, once a Treyvon has been nailed, he can be squeezzed for information on lots of other crimes, thereby breaking down the “no snitching” custom and allowing many other crimes to be solved.

Correction: If ‘ Holder’s people ‘ would straighten up and stop killing each other, the case for concealed carry would all but vanish, since the murder rate would plummet.

I remember prosecutions dropping significantly with AG Reno during the Clinton years as well. Interesting.
