Hugo Chavez faces tough cancer recovery, says Maduro (VeeP and hand-picked successor awaits end)

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez faces a "complex and difficult" recovery from cancer, his vice-president has said.

Nicolas Maduro, Mr Chavez's handpicked successor, said the president's latest surgery in Cuba had been "complex, difficult, delicate".

Mr Maduro was speaking in Caracas following Mr Chavez's fourth cancer-related surgery on Tuesday.

He urged Venezuelans to pray for the 58-year-old president, and to face the "hard days" ahead calmly.

Mr Maduro was speaking alongside National Assembly President Diosdado Cabello and Oil Minister Rafael Ramirez, who had both joined Mr Chavez on his trip to Cuba. The president's children and grandchildren were also with him in Havana.

A solemn Mr Maduro, his voice cracking, said: "It was a complex, difficult, delicate operation," which meant that "the post-operative process is also going to be a complex and hard process".

Before Mr Maduro spoke, state television showed footage of Venezuelans praying for the president at a Mass.

Mr Chavez remains in Cuba and there has been no indication when he will return.

Hugo asks for prayers.. maybe the Pope can tweet him.. a nicer touch would be having Fidel visit him.. maybe they can share a crypt soon.. with Lenin.

“Hugo Chavez faces a “complex and difficult” recovery from cancer,”

Perhaps because trying to glue your cojones back on with Superglue isn’t as easy as it looks.

Even in the darkest times, a ray of light can pierce the gloom and bring cheer.

Hugo Chavez has admitted to a daily cocaine habit. His choice is what they used to call a “bazooka,” favored by the poor of some South American countries. It is unrefined coca paste fitted into a large glass tube or rolled in a tobacco leaf and smoked. Whether this contributed to his cancer is unknown. But it definitely affected his mind.

I was wondering why Sean Penn worships him so much.

They all turn to God and prayer in the end.

Mr Chavez remains in Cuba and there has been no indication when his remains will be returned although there was
some question about his bill...

Shame on both of you!

It is clear that Hugo's cancer is due solely to living downwind of an American-built petroleum installation which has exploited the proletariat of our Sister Bolivarian Republic like forever and added immeasurably to Global Warming.

The stress of rapidly rising sea levels added to these carcinogenic fumes wrote out a death sentence for this saintly man. The man cannot be blamed for using organic medicaments from the neighboring FARC Redoubt in the Bolivarian Republic of Colombia.

You Yanqui Jackals! Go away! My tears are causing my Che Guevara tee shirt to run, damn you!
