I was at the store the other day, and there was a lady behind me who had one item. I had a huge cart full. I always let people go ahead of me. This time I asked her if she voted for Obama before I let her go in front of me. When she said yes with a smile on her face- I said- ok, I don’t meed to invite you to my polite society. And she just stood there, sort of speechless. My filter for being nice to Obamaphone voters is gone. Gone. It is totally gone.
good for you. How did you manage to ask the question though, just came out with it.
“My filter for being nice to Obamaphone voters is gone. Gone. It is totally gone.”
So is God’s.

I don’t blame you one bit for letting her stand there with her one item
You and me both. I refuse to acknowledge them in any way in my personal or professional life.
Personal life that's easy: I just cut them off and no longer communicate with them in any way. Period.
Professional life is a bit harder, so I make them jump through every bureaucratic hoop there is @ work. I'm the Principal Infrastructure Systems Architect (de facto Chief Architect) at the bank, so I make them fill out every requirements document, funding request, systems diagram, you name it before I'll even talk to them. The bureaucracy where I work can be stifling if you don't know how to work through the system and leverage your personal relationships to get work done.
The Obamanuts will spend weeks filling out paperwork having it rejected time and time again for not being completed properly before I'll even meet with them. My more Conservative friends at the bank know that I'm doing it to the Obamanuts deliberately and they're starting to do it also. It's really quite fun from my perspective.
