Wow...heh, much more than that! There are so many strange and unanswered questions coming out of this that I have lost track of them.

This smacks of a major coverup with security implications along with gun-running, and much worse than the Regan years - just no tapes to review (yet).

Of course only “Republicans” could actually care - Democrats are party folks and could care less.

Keep the important things in mind. Here is something to e-mail to every talking head, every Senator and every House rep.

--------------------------------------------------------

Fact One:

1) Only the POTUS can authorize a CBA (cross border authority) command for a rescue mission in a foreign nation.

Plus Fact Two:

2) No rescue mission was attempted.

Equals Fact Three:

3) 0bama turned his back on 41 State Dept. and CIA employees refusing to issue a CBA command and went to bed so he could go to Las Vegas the next day.

Not something that our Media has the sense to report! So either we will not get to the bottom of this because of the Media or we will have to hope for Republican action.

Not holding my breath on either count.

Fox News is reporting on it and that very point was hit on on Pirro’s show last weekend. It just hasn’t penetrated their consciousnesses yet. The point of e-mailing it to all talking heads, Senators and Reps is so that they all know it. If they all know then they know that others know it. Then they know they have to get out in front of it.

Sounds good! Good to know that Fox was on it and not newly reported by the Wash. Post.

Must have missed the reference on Fox. They alone seem to be covering much of this. At least now it can not be covered up. Thanks TigersEye.

AFAIK WaPo has never said a thing about CBA and POTUS' sole authority to issue it. They didn't use the term CBA even on Pirro's show but they did express the principle. So far I don't think most of them have even thought of it. It hasn't occurred to them that only POTUS could give the order.

We need the press to start asking about that so that House Reps will start asking their witnesses about it. Once the concept takes hold publically there is no excuse and no spin that changes any of those three facts. Panetta is out there trying to create an excuse to get ahead of this but he's making a fool of himself.

TigersEye,

Your EXACT statement as posted here on FR will be on the desk of Senator Bob Corker, of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Tuesday morning.

Let us see if it gets "legs".

So bottom line, anyone communicating with Obamav is a suspected terrorist and can be monitored by the government under the patriot act. Obamav was a typo, but I like that spelling. Or how about Obamov? That’s good too.

Thank you very much for taking me up on that. Years ago there were e-mail engines that could/would send an e-mail to all Senators or all Congressmen in one shot. I intend to look for one tomorrow and see if they still exist.

I have found that it is really hard to e-mail them these days as you have to sign up to their websites and prove you're in their district to do it. Back in 2000 they weren't so exclusionary.

You do sound like you have some inside knowledge here...

If we are waiting for the press to ask the questions, you only have Fox that might pursue the truth here. I do believe the Panetta, and other “top officials” are up to their elbows in this coverup and I believe it will unravel shortly.

No, I don't have inside knowledge but Travis McGee could be said to. I assumed the pres had sole authority for this weeks ago before anyone confirmed it. Since then Col. Hunt confirmed it and other former military and CIA ops have confirmed. It simply made sense to me. No one gives an order to send a mil op into a foreign country except the POTUS. You know, War Powers Act and all that?

Back in 2000 they weren't so exclusionary.

Yes sir, you're right.

These days they only want to hear from their constituency. Often they tend to ignore them.

My concern is that there are far too many "posture peons & posers" and few stalwarts who yearn to wield the "terrible swift sword" of justice.

Let us see WHO, or WHAT, Corker is.

Heh, I should have had all of that information but was so depressed after the election that I missed much...

Am also a member of PJMedia so should not have missed that but I did...along with lots of Fox information. Guess it’s time to catch up... Of course watch Fox all the time...

Thanks for the comments... I guess it’s time to get over the election and catch up on what is going on..

Thanks for the reminders - even though that was not your intent.

It’s the FBI’s job to do this kind of checking, particularly on a high-ranking general and later holder of the director of the country’s intelligence agency, where he is exposed to a substantial amount of high-priority intelligence on a regular basis. There has to be absolute confidence that he is not in a position to be compromised by something exactly like this affair.

That's all well and good, but where was the FBI during Bill Clinton's 8 years in office? What background check did he ever pass? It's an absolute joke when we fire Secret Service agents for seeing prostitutes and we tell a patriot like Petraeus he has to go because of one affair, but Bill Clinton can hump any woman he wants (consensual or not), he can pardon terrorists of the FALN, he can take illegal campaign cash from China, he can sign technology waivers for China, etc.

I say RE-HIRE PETRAEUS!

There have been news reports indicating that the affair happened after he started working for the CIA. Also, Fox reported that the CIA did its own vetting, not the FBI - which is also a strange thing.

Yep. Petraeus potentially compromised national security for a taste of glory and sex. It has already ruined the rep of a very good soldier and now, apparently is going to widen to include Gen. Allen and, I’d guess, others.
