What is the makeup of your area??! Without that info, your report is not very meaningful to the rest of us.
Polling place already had a long line snaking out of the school gym and down the sidewalk .... I got there about 20 minutes after the poll opened. Signs everywhere - had to look for the Obama signs interspersed between the R/R signs & locals running for office. I suspect this area voted for Obama last time (enviro-wienie yuppie types) ... let’s hope they have had a change of mind/heart over the last 4 years. Definitely more folks waiting to vote than the last election.
Voter #4 in my precinct (big dem area outside pittsburgh). Straight GOP ticket. Lots of prayers today. Not sure how this country would survive 4 more years of this marxist!
Good news from Pennsylvania! I live in the suburbs around Pittsburgh, and aa friend who went to vote early told me that these are the longest lines she’s ever seen! I’m sure to head out myself after I finish eating breakfast here, so I’ll grab some pictures when I get there.
Do you mean 1994??
For all of you fellow 0bama supporters out there, this message is JUST for us progressives - so all the other patriots and conservatives, STOP reading right here.
My message to the rest of us 0bamists, DON’T forget to switch to Daylight Savings time.... adjust your clocks and calendar... it IS now Monday, November 5th, 8 AM. Make sure YOU go and vote TOMORROW!
Two couples in front of me; all voting Romney. One of them for the first time as a US citizen.
Our efforts today are akin to what the embattled farmers did at Lexington in 1775. Let's pray our votes are enough...
Ronald Reagan carried the People’s Republic Of MA twice in the 80s.
I don’t expect Williard Mitt Romney to accomplish the same feat even though he’s the home state’s former Governor.
Romney would become the first President since Woodrow Wilson to win without carrying his home state.
My college roommate was from Huntington. There are some great people in that town.
Jeff Kuhner on WRKO in Boston is taking calls on turnout and everywhere there are big lines. One voter said the last time he saw a line that big in his precinct was in 1980.
Our 21-year old son—our youngest— will be voting in his very first Presidential election this morning. I remember the first time I went to vote for President of the United States. What an awesome feeling it was - very special. And, to this day, I always get a wonderful feeling, knowing that it is such a privilege to be able to vote (hopefully, that will continue!!)
Standing By to Stand By, this might be a maybe, hoping FR will hold up strong.
Its a very small community in which I live. The kind you read about in magazines. About 10 miles from town. Quiet and pleasant. Weve got one grocery store, one general store, about twenty-two churches, and a liquor store off a back road at which you dare not be seen. (Yeah, I can tell you how to get there.) Im off to vote in about 10 minutes, and am thanking God that we still have such a sacred right.
I have prayed this morning and I was shocked at the tears that flowed. Often in the past four years Ive prayed for our Country, but I have to admit that this morning was a first for weeping for it. May Our Great God have mercy and grant us His blessing today. May it be such an enormous victory that His work in it cannot be denied.
After voting, Im off for a root canal. (Id only worry about today if it were the other they were working on.)
Stay safe, and
God Bless You All,
SC
To all my fellow FReepers:
When Moses stood overlooking the Red Sea, he was wondering what God was going to do next. (God told me to stretch out this staff over the sea...Thy will be done)
His next words apply to us today:
“Stand still and see the salvation of God”
READ MY LIPS.....we will pass over on dry ground.
EPIC TURNOUT IN OHIO!
55WKRC callers all reporting never before seen epic turnout all throughout Southwestern Ohio.
When my polling station opened the guy in front of me yelled, “Let’s go fire us a president!” Everyone in line cheered.
I can only think that this is good for Romney...
You just made my day.
Was vote #120...modest turnout.
I voted by absentee and will be flying to Florida this morning. Long lines reported in this Republican leaning town in CT. We won’t make a difference in the Presidential Race but perhaps we can win a Senate Seat with Linda McMahon.
Your post reminded me that this is a good time to thank Jim R etal for the work they have done for many years—and continue to do.
The MSM continues to breathlessly lie with every word other than “a” and “the”—here we can come to find out what the h is really going on...
