As such, federal and local officials heard an earful from residents Thursday.

“Please don’t leave us,” a weeping Donna Solli pleaded to Sen. Chuck Schumer in front of her damaged Neptune St. home. “I live alone down here.”

Schumer hugged Solli, a Transportation Department worker, and tried to comfort her. “I know what you’re going through, sweetheart,” he said.

I haven’t heard any of these people be thankful for something yet.

Question: Are there any churches doing church work in New York?

I’m sorry for those affected and I hope the help they need comes ASAP, but another part of me is enjoying seeing those democrats who had such a high old time playing politics with Katrina getting politically squeezed by the consequences of this storm.

Saw it. As much as I feel sorry for the woman, good grief. I’m no Schumer fan, but that woman needs to find a relief shelter or local disaster relief center and get off Schumer’s back.

If she’s a member of a church, she’s got a resource. She could contact the mayor’s office and get directed to places she can get help. Walk over there lady.

If she was a Dem and a Republican had been there, the media would be all over it replaying it over and over... for political mileage.

To be honest, I have seen the clip a number of times. Heh, heh, heh...

I hope it gets played often this weekend.

If you rely on the state or federal govt to rescue you..you will wait a long time.
The press really rushed to the conclusion the Obama had conquered this storm, but the story is far from over..the only question is will the MSM cover it.
They may prefer to rediscover Benghazi.

Katrina: "Where's Bush?"
Sandy:     "Where's the governor? Where's the Mayor? Where's FEMA?"

Everyone but Obama's fault.
BONUS: Benghazi is off the front page!

That shows what a lifetime of entitlement mentality can do to you. She feels she will die without the government stepping in to take care of her when she had ample time to prepare in advance. Shumer deserves to hear that because he is one of the prime architects of the entitlement society. Now they can bite his butt off.

Facebook with comment: “Federal Government cannot do it, Americans Can. Wake up, if you put your faith in a government for your every need you will find yourself alone when your not feeding the Beast. Government is to protect us from enemy’s foreign and domestic, the rest is up to us. Your local government has spent how much of your tax dollars and did what with them? Local Government, Church’s and privet organizations/local company’s have been the answer in years past why would they not be the answer now? Why do some have to learn the hard way where lives and souls get lost?”

Anyone notice Schumer spewing the talking point “we will cut through the red tape”? What an effin’ BS artist. Three days in and all he can manage is a parroting of the Dear Leader.

I have as much sympathy for disaster victims as anyone, but when a normal, able-bodied adult who is a little cold and has missed maybe one meal in the last week complains to a U.S. Senator that “we’re going to die!,” I think we’ve crossed the line from legitimate concern to nanny-state theatrics.

I feel for the woman but watching Schumer was hilarious. The creep went out for a photo op and got his ass chewed out.

“I know what you’re going through, sweetheart,” he said.”

And he added, “Sometimes you just gotta face up to the fact you're going to die cold and alone in the dark, Sweetheart”/sarc in full sarc mode.

I would say in this case yes, overall however it speaks to the larger truth.

We were not meant to go through life with such over consuming, helplessness and whining.

Problem is that poor lady believed the Shmuck and puts faith in him, and she will vote for Obambi on Tues. if she has not already voted early.

For us in the south the Katrina tide has turned on those on the northeast coast. Us rubes down here knew we had to fend for ourselves and help each other. Up there they seem to have no self survival instincts, that is Sad!

Sorry if my statements seem harsh but it is fact.

Sorry lady but you are speaking the wrong language with little Chuck. Try this:

“But my home is listed as a major hot spot on Grinder”

The Corps of Engineers will arrive in four hours or less.

You know it was nothing more than a half-@ssed photo-op because a U.S. Senator has less influence at a disaster recovery scene than a sanitation worker.

Having a U.S. Senator show up on Staten Island in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy is like having one more Indian at Custer's Last Stand.
