Linky Thing: FEMA / WH Send Storm Victims to the Internet
the idiots are telling victims (millions of whom are without power) to get their relief information from the internet.
Incompetent IDIOTS!
Obama’s advantage is he isn’t dealing with Gov. Blanca or Mayor of NOLA.
It won’t change the outcome of the election, it’s not like Obama wasn’t going to win New York, and most states affected were blue anyway, IMO.
But as far as pass/fail on handling...native Floridian, here, 60 years in this state and seen lots of storms. In the minds of those inconvenience or who have experienced disruption of their lives, nobody (no agency, no mayor, no President, no disaster relief organization) ever does enough, within an acceptable time frame, as far as the people that have experienced loss goes.
It quickly descends into a “You can please some of the people, some of the time...etc.” scenario. Those with power restored are happy, those waiting are not.
In a large natural disaster, there are always folks who are dissatisfied...give them a day or two without power, and with empty grocery aisles, or trying to find water or gas, and it will be like every other hurricane or natural disaster of any magnitude, people will start to grumble.
And with New Yorkers, I imagine they’re probably more impatient than Southern states or Midwest states when they get hit with power outages and disruption of normal living necessities. Partly because those Midwest and Southern states are used to hurricanes and tornadoes... New York did recover from 9/11...but the area affected was much smaller. In that densely populated area, getting things back to normal is going to be a monumental task.
Just my 2 cents.
Why didn’t he just stop the ocean’s waters from rising, like he said he would? I guess it’s just another broken promise from him.
You do not prepare a country for natural disasters by spending money on bankrupt green energy companies. In fact, you make the country more in debt and less able to handle an emergency situation. Which may explain why 5 Nuclear Power Plants have reported problems over the weekend due to Sandy.
Where is he, BTW? I’ve seen Romney gathering emergency supplies in Ohio...but no Barry...
He is demonstratively setting politics aside...
Is the author really stupid enough not to see his own contradiction here?
That's all this is: a show of compassion and "leadership" in an attempt to salvage his campaign.
I awoke from dozing off last night, with the TV on Sandy coverage.
My immediate intuitive thought was, omyGod Obama gets a chance to star in his own media event, and wipe the previous slate clean.
And get reelected?
(I recall that McCain misfired BADLY trooping his ass back to DC to join in the fiscal breakdown 2008, and hand the election to Obama)
...pointing his finger and telling FEMA to take care of the problem is supposed to show how skilled he is as a leader?
Well, I guess that's more skill than he has demonstrated in any other field so far.
