The headline gives the impression that there was a plane on scene ready to fire. The article does not confirm this. It states that targets were painted with laser and backup was requested. There is no information that the backup ever arrived.

The security officer does not just sit there while requesting back up while at the same time being shot at and say:
" Ok.... I'll just sit here with my laser on my target and wait a hour for the AC-130 to show up " .....
IF ? he had his laser focused on a target in a critical situation while at the same time being shot at... they are not going to wait a hour for back up to show up... the plane must have been in the area with the laser on the target for it to be taken out.
