That is absolutely incorrect. I maintain the misguided paternalism currently extended to women by myopic traditionalists have released a cancer on the body politic.
Any group, it doesn't have to be just women, that exercises all the common liberties without common commensurate responsibilities, while enjoying numerical superiority at the voting booth, is bound to take advantage of that position to the detriment of themselves and society as a whole.
And frankly, I find your "disgust," laughable. I can feel nothing but contempt for those who try to force the square peg of traditional social norms into the round hole of contemporary legal realities.
It is that exact kind of narrow-minded provincialism that has left the West open to the predations of the Muslims by insisting Islam be afforded the same presumptions of innocence due to other, non-predatory, religions.

The fact is there are very different legal standards for men than women in this country, despite the myth of "equality."
Notice women legally have the entire gestation period of their pregnancy to decide whether or not they wish to reproduce, yet the law, with full support from supercilious traditionalists, glibly tells men "you should have though of that before...."
Furthermore, he is legally obligated to financially support any children by *her* decision to reproduce with no analogous rights to "opt out" nor prevent her from aborting his child should he offer to take the responsibility on his own.
The main reason I decided to adopt from the other side of the planet is because there is no such thing as a binding agreement with women in America when children are involved.
I'm pretty old school, but I have modified my tendencies toward "women" over the past couple of decades. Since they now mostly act like men, they get treated like a man. If a woman swings at me, God help her, because whatever chivalry and deference I may have once had is completely gone now.
