I’m sure the residents of South LA who lost all their trees so this could pass by will be thrilled as punch.

Saw the Space Shuttle yesterday around 12:30 near my sister’s house, it was cool since it was my first time seeing it in person. Heard about how they have to get rid of 300+ trees so I can imagine the environmentalist kooks will be livid over it, so what, they are livid about everything

BTW, the 300+ trees are being replaced with 800 new trees.

But much younger and smaller ones.

Well, trees are a renewable resource.
BTW, only about 50 trees were taller than 15 feet.
Also, some of the larger trees will be transplanted.

BTW, some estimates say over 300,000+ people will be lining the route from LAX to the musuem when the slow final trip is made.

Heard about how they have to get rid of 300+ trees so I can imagine the environmentalist kooks will be livid over itIt wasn't the environmentalists but the residents of South LA who lost a lot of necessary mature shade trees.
The before and after pictures betray a now starkly barren neighborhood that people have to live with for one pass of the shuttle.
There is nowhere down there to plant 800 trees to replace the 400 removed much less expect shade from the little saplings anytime in a residents' lifespan.
It was not the final landing that should have been befitting the Endeavor.

In this image released by NASA, the Space shuttle Endeavour, mounted atop a NASA 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft lands at Los Angeles International Airport, on September 21, 2012. Endeavour, built as a replacement for space shuttle Challenger, completed 25 missions, spent 299 days in orbit, and orbited Earth 4,671 times while traveling 122,883,151 miles (197,761,261.76kms). Beginning October 30, the shuttle will be on display in the California Science center's Samuel Oschin Space Shuttle Endeavour Display Pavilion

Endeavor seen from behind the Hollywood sign at a range of 10-15 miles. It's Roughly over the Hollywood Chick-Fil-A location, heading east at this point. Some photos have shown it going in the opposite direction, but this photo does show it headed East. [The Hollywood sign is roughly 75 feet below the tower on the other side of the mountain range.]
