Obama Donor Heads Organization that Freed Terrorist Accused of Plotting Attack in Benghazi
Mental Recession ^ | 09/20/2012

There are reports tonight that a radical left-wing organization is responsible for helping to free a former detainee at Guantanamo Bay named Abu Sufian bin Qumu. Bin Qumu has been cited by multiple sources at Fox News as at least being involved with, and possibly playing the lead role in the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Those attacks resulted in the deaths of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other American diplomats.

Michelle Malkin has revealed that the Center for Constitutional Rights represented Qumu and helped lead the charge in freeing him back in 2007.

President Emeritus of the CCR, Michael Ratner, has long advocated for closing Guantanamo Bay's doors, and for the right of Gitmo detainees within. In a 2009 article for the Huffington Post, Ratner sings the praises of his organization's efforts, calling the release of two thirds of Gitmo detainees an "amazing success".

While feeling that terrorists caught on the battlefield were privy to the same rights as ordinary Americans, Ratner also repeatedly advocated for the prosecution of senior-level Bush administration officials, calling the detention of those terrorists, like bin Qumu, unlawful. His op-ed for CNN made a case for prosecuting former President George W. Bush for torture under the War Crimes Act.

In 2008, Ratner signed an endorsement for Barack Obama in his presidential bid, based on a belief that Obama would best represent the rights of Gitmo detainees. He and 79 other lawyers said in a joint statement, that they believed Obama was the best choice to roll back the Bush-Cheney administration's detention policies in the war on terrorism and thereby to "restore the rule of law, demonstrate our commitment to human rights, and repair our reputation in the world community."

Ratner also endorsed through donation, sending $2,300 to the Obama campaign.

How much you wanna bet that Ratner and the 79 lawyers who advocated for closing Gitmo feel no responsibility, whatsoever.

They are all working at justice:

DOJ Lawyers Who Represented Terrorism Suspects Detainees Are Identified

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Fox News has identified the seven anonymous Justice Department lawyers who previously represented Guantánamo detainees or terrorism suspects.

Justice Department spokesman Matthew A. Miller confirmed the names to Fox News’ Mike Levine, but did not say whether any of the seven previously anonymous lawyers now work on issues related to Guantánamo detainees.

“Each of the nine people referenced in the letter filed legal briefs that are available by using something as simple as Google,” Miller told Fox News. “We will not participate in an attempt to drag people’s names through the mud for political purposes.”

Miller said “politics has overtaken facts and reality” in the battle over the lawyers’ identities. (Full statement below)

The current Justice Department employees who previously represented Guantánamo detainees or terrorism suspects are:
•Tony West, the Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division.
•Jonathan Cedarbaum, of the Office of Legal Counsel.
•Eric Columbus, senior counsel in the Office of the Deputy Attorney General.
•Karl Thompson, of the Office of Legal Counsel.
•Joseph Guerra, Principal Deputy Associate Attorney General.
•Tali Farhadian, an official in the Office of the Attorney General.
•Beth Brinkmann, Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Division.

Two other DOJ lawyers — Principal Deputy Solicitor General Neal Katyal and National Security Division Attorney Jennifer Daskal – also formerly represented detainees, but their identities had already been known.

In response to the DOJ confirmation, Keep America Safe spokesman Aaron Harison said the organization still wants information on which of the lawyers works on detainee issues within the DOJ.

“The American people have a right to know whether lawyers who voluntarily flocked to Guantanamo to take up the cause of the terrorists are currently working on detainee issues in President Obama’s Justice Department,” Harison said. (Full statement below)

Details about the DOJ lawyers’ involvement in Guantánamo detainee cases are available in the article, which also points out that the Justice Department hired several lawyers who represented Guantánamo detainees during the George W. Bush administration

Eric Holder's law firm represented terrorists! It only stands to reason that he would pack the DOJ with his other people.

Culture of corruption, Holder, terrorists, Covington-Burling.

Want to take on a review for the UnHoly Alliance book:

*****************************

By Evelina

Format:Hardcover
I am a liberal. I recognize that Islam is not liberal. There is nothing liberal about it. I have often wondered how those who call themselves liberal can justify and even side with muslims who want to destroy the west. Horowitz does not know why, of course, but he does lay out how liberals, who consider the US to be a fascist nation, are actively supporting its destruction by a culture that really is a fascist culture. Is it that liberals think once we get rid of the powerful west, the rest of the world will be easily swayed to our way of thinking? This viewpoint is not only stupid it is insulting to non western peoples. It's also amazing that liberals never seem to notice how much muslims and other peoples hate what they regard as the manifestation of liberalsim. Muslims would rather kill their daughters than to have them have children out of wedlock. They hate the idea of children not obeying parents, of religion being mocked, of personal gratification being the end all of existence. The things that liberals want, more freedom of every kind, more sexual liberation, are what muslims abhor. If muslims every got enough power, the first thing they would do is destroy the liberals. So what are liberals thinking?

Yes, it would. It would also be great to know what the republicans, who absolutely were aware that Holder's firm represented terrorists yet still voted to approve Holder as AG, were thinking!
