Went to a Grandparents breakfast last week at a public school in Texas. I don’t understand how they considered this a healthy breakfast. My grandchildren got 2 graham crakers, pre pkg, a muffin,pre pkg like in a vending machine,and canned fruit cocktail and canned peaches. They also served dry cereal, apple jacks. I consider this junk food loaded with carbs and no protein.
When I went back to my daughter in law’s house she showed me a notice the school had sent home telling the parents what they could send to school for their children’s snacks. No homemade cookie, cupcakes, cake or pudding were allowed. The teacher would confiscate it and replace the snack with crakers that are available in each classroom.
That would not be happening in my classroom.
