You don't get it. The 47% who have the "liberty" not to pay taxes, are voting to make the rest of us pay taxes.
And the 53% who do pay taxes should point that out.
Beyond that, the Constitution does grant congress the power to levy taxes to pay for the Constitutional functions of our federal government.
I don’t agree dragnet, there are many Americans that are fat, dumb, and happy to be getting their checks from the gov’t and aren’t pissed off at all. Sure, most of your friends and most of my friends are pissed off, but you’re missing the totality. There are so many people out there that want to bring down this country, or at the very least bring down the “makers”...they are happy as a clam and don’t care about the destruction they cause as long as they get their checks.
That’s why I want everyone to pay something because that is when the anger really starts and people finally wake up.
Yup. We’re almost at the tipping point. It is sad what America has become and where it is going. Really sad.

As far as PROGRESSIVE INCOME TAXES if I tell you to get rid of income taxes, do you imagine I think anything good about the progressivity of the rates?

What you and others are missing and walked right by, is the bigger problem, which is not the leaches, but the enabler, corrupt government. Same government who intentially waved through tens of *millions* of illegals, while forcing the tax payers to pay for their educations, incarcerations, health care, food stamps, welfare, you name it.
If American need legitimate help, we give it to them. They are our people. But tens of millions of illegals, which both parties have intentionally allowed to choke America off is outrageous and a country killer.
Do we need to get a handle on entitlement fraud perpetrated by citizens? Absolutely.
But going after tens of *millions* of illegals who are choking us off at every level, as the government aids and abets them, as the government spends money like a drunken lottery winner? The government is looting the American treasure.
This should be #1 priority.
