Not to be a real stick in the mud, but training Afghans is the mission that keeps us in Afghan.

It’s one of the prongs of the counter-insurgency strategy. Take over an area and leave local good guys to keep it under control.

Those “local good guys” are busy killing our guys, so we stopped doing the “train them” piece of the “leave local good guys to keep sanitized areas under control.”

So, why are we now in Afghanistan if we just now gave up on the only sane mission that makes sense.

The first rule of fighting is NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN.
We need to start building family quarters in Afghanistan. We call it PENTAGON FORWARD and move half the Pentagon over there with their families. This thing is over in a month. Their wives would be screaming at them so loud they’d wear ear plugs at home.
