I don’t think people understand. As a leftist, Obama doesn’t respect countries that are allies. Especially Islamic countries. He now respects Egypt more because they don’t support the United States as a true ally.
He sees this as progress.
Mubarak was a rotten SOB but he was OUR SOB. He kept the peace...honored agreements with Israel. The Arab Spring is a disaster. GOP should put out ads showing how Obama’s support resulted in what’s going on now.
It’s funny. We support democracy in the Middle East, cheer when it happens and then stand by as they vote themselves fundamentalist Islamic terrorists into power.

Obama likes the result. If you know liberalism that’s not any exaggeration. Liberals have contempt for our allies.
To Obama, Egypt as an ally was a pathetic kow tow to Israel. Don’t people realize Obama is immersed in an ideology where the “legitimate aspirations of the Palestinians” are paramount. He sees us as having to back Israel to appease the “Jewish Lobby”. He sees what is happening in Egypt as justice.
I guarantee you though he will BS as much as possible, Obama will not say he wants Egypt to return to being the ally it was.
Exactly right. I specifically recall posting at the time that Obama lost Egypt. And so it is.
And yes, Obama might actually see this as progress. Obama’s goal is to diminish America’s standing in the world so losing Egypt as an ally is likely seen as progress by Obama.
Obama continues to destroy everything he touches.
The money is going straight to Egypt's military, who are still our allies and who will hopefully take the country over from the fundamentalist Islamic Brotherhood that Egyptians freely elected.

Carter had tons of faults, but he should be given credit when it’s due. The Camp David Accords was a major accomplishment that stabilized the Middle East for decades.

Obama did not think he was saying anything bad when he said Egypt is not our ally, is not our enemy.
Could say the same about Israel.
