Former Paradise Valley mayor Vernon Parker has won the Republican nomination in Arizona's new 9th Congressional District.

Some early ballots remain to be counted but results Wednesday with all 141 precincts reporting show Parker with an 800-vote margin over Wendy Rogers, with a total of more than 38,000 votes cast in the seven-way GOP race.

Parker will face former state Sen. Kyrsten Sinema in the general election. She won the district's three-way Democratic primary.

The 9th District takes in much of Tempe and parts of Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Mesa and Chandler.

I can't believe this major controversy hasn't been mentioned yet here...this is yet another example of the rampant racism in the GOP the media - especially MSNBC - has been warning us about - the primary voters just chose this man as the GOP nominee:

Vernon Parker for Congress

The dems and the MSM just don’t get it. We conservatives are color blind. We judge candidates on the content of their character, not by the color of their skin. Sound familiar?...

However, former Sen. Kyrsten Sinema is a “red”. See her page at www.keywiki.org (Search under her name). She’s supported the Communist Party of Arizona for nearly two decades.

Once exposed, she’ll just crawl under a rock and come out as a “progressive”.

I don’t know anything about the man other than what I just read on his website, but he sure seems to be on the right side of the issues judging from his campaign literature. But I am savvy enough to know that a deeper view is necessary to fully judge his character.

He’s the liberal one it seems.

Unless someone has local intelligence, it seems hard to say. From Parker's Web site, he's quite conservative on pro-life, immigration, economics, 2nd Amendment, etc. The only bone I have to pick with him is that he doesn't promise to shut down the Department of Education. But on his opponent's Web site, she didn't either.

Looks as if voters had the choice of two Republicans who would be considered quite conservative in the most of the country. Good for them.

AZ candidate Sinema: Stay-at-home-moms "leeching off their husbands..."

Kyrsten Sinema: Communist Connected Arizona State Senator to Run For Congress

The Dems demonstrate again they are the party of tolerance and diversity by choosing her as their nominee.

No, not at all...I was being tongue in cheek in my initial comments - I happened to come across that news of him winning shortly after reading the latest article on MSNBC declaring every comment made by Republicans as racist code language - including “golf” “Chicago”, etc.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vernon_Parker

* Among his endorsements is Sheriff Joe..his website somewhat vague/specific in regards to issues but conservative.

Vs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyrsten_Sinema

Also, seems that she suffers from Lizzie Warren syndrome..

But of course!

From the article: “She won the district’s three-way Democratic primary.”
