Ann Romney: 'This Man Will Lift Up America!' (Excerpts from Ann's convention speech)
Weekly Standard ^ | August 28, 2012

Posted on 08/28/2012 3:50:04 PM PDT by GOPinCa

The Romney campaign released these excerpts of Ann Romney's speech, which she'll deliver tonight at the Republican convention in Tampa: “Tonight I want to talk to you from my heart about our hearts.

“I want to talk not about what divides us, but what holds us together as an American family. I want to talk to you tonight about that one great thing that unites us, that one thing that brings us our greatest joy when times are good, and the deepest solace in our dark hours.

“Tonight I want to talk to you about love. …

“Mitt's dad never graduated from college. Instead, he became a carpenter.

“He worked hard, and he became the head of a car company, and then the governor of Michigan.

“When Mitt and I met and fell in love, we were determined not to let anything stand in the way of our life together. …

“I read somewhere that Mitt and I have a ‘storybook marriage.’ Well, in the storybooks I read, there were never long, long, rainy winter afternoons in a house with five boys screaming at once. And those storybooks never seemed to have chapters called MS or Breast Cancer.

OK ansell, let’s challenge one of your assertions for fun, although it’s probably a waste of time. You say that “people are setting up Romney to be a saint” here. By that, you appear to mean that speaking positively of him and his life = sainthood. That is false. A saint is worshiped and venerated as an example of a nearly perfect life. Nobody here is doing that with Mr. Health Care.

And Cicero, if by newbie, you mean here slightly less than you, then aren’t you special. But most people’s definitions of “newbie” leave off after a year or two, let alone thirteen. I resort to personal attacks after repeated exposure to rational argument fails to produce evidence of honest intelligence. In this thread there are ample examples of that, let alone the hundreds that ansell posts to. Some people seem to exist to be sucking mud under your feet, and I will call them out.

Looks like Nancy Reagan spoke in Dallas in 1984.

RE :”Ive come to the conclusion that I cannot vote *for* either of these politicians...and a third party vote at this point would be ineffective, simply because the majority of people are willing to sell their principles for the lesser of evil...

what???

If you DON”T VOTE then you are responsible for everything the winner does after he gets in office (the WH.) In fact you will be the single deciding NON-VOTE. Remember rabs was in 2008.

Alternatively those WHO DO VOTE are NOT responsible for ANYTHING the winner does in office.

Or do I have that backwards? It is so confusing sometimes LOL

It was a really good speech. For me, she looks a little nervous at the start but once she got going, she connected.

Not thrilled with Romney as the nominee but does the man have a deep and abiding love of the United States? I believe he does.

Obama does not.

Romney while being made saintlike by some here, is actually going to become a God, and be worshiped by the people that he rules over.

The only thing you referenced was post 267, that had a link to a thread on “The Heroic Romney Rescue”.

“”Thread after thread, post after post of people trying to lay sainthood on the Romneys, even heroism.
People can vote for Romney, but he is still the same corrupt sleazebag lefty, pathological liar, anti-Reagan, draft dodging, anti-conservative that we all knew about a year ago.
Now would you want falsehoods like this to become created at freerepublic?”” http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2922496/posts

heh.. you cant stop... In fact your aiding that process...

Lets just get this out in the open... Just as real freedom and liberty conservatives share now ideological similarities with the democrat party we increasingly share less and less ideological similarities with the stupid F’ers in the GOP-e. Not because we changed, but because its become apparent that these Aholes are socialists / statists.

Row that boat “recovering hippie”... right into the abyss of socialism... But your going to do it without our F’ing help, we are swimming to shore...

Idiot.

I have NOT defended Mormonism....just the choice between Romney and barry.

Simply put, I put saving my country BEFORE anything else.

Your hatred for a Mormon clouds your judgement. ANYONE who reads this thread can see it.

You are no Christian, as you claim to be. I’d spit on you; however, that is not a Christian thing to do, so I would not.

But I’m sure you would.

She also said she had to practice speaking from a teleprompter because she wasn’t used to it.

She is a damn quick study.

"Romney while being made saintlike by some here, is actually going to become a God,"

Post ONE posting that backs your claim.

That is your PRIDE shining through. Those of us here posting have a choice, barry or Romney.

Your hatred of Mormons shine through all of your posts. We are onto you.

You're just pissy because we called you out on it. Perhaps you will be more comfy in joining a homo PRIDE parade.

RE :”i wont court evil due to some contrived fear of bambam

Then we will all have to pray for you to see the light buddy. Evil can only be fought with evil, lies with lies, etc. There is no way back up the moral chain when it comes to elections anymore than getting a POTUS who spends less then the last one.

On a brighter note it looks like the mystery speaker on Thursday (wink wink ‘I am’) will fix everything. Have faith.

And just who the heck are you to judge someone?

James 2:13- For the one that does not practice mercy will have (his) judgement without mercy. Mercy exults triumphantly over judgment.
