Priebus is playing it smart, here. The money the NSRC was going to spend on Akin can be better used in other states (like mine, Ohio), and saying so early will force Huckabee to open up his coffers and get his fundamentalists to fund Akin and put him over the top.

The Reps are going to have to pump money into MO to help Romney. It is a battleground state. The campaign that Akin is running is that McCaskill is an Obama drone who supports all of Obama's policies, including Obamacare. Do the Romney ads even mention the need to defeat downticket Dems like McCaskill?
Romney made a very stupid mistake by jumping into the fray. Now Akin can't even appear with him or Ryan when they are in the state. And no doubt there could be payback against Romney by some Akin supporters who may even appear at Romney/Ryan rallies. Great photo op for the MSM.
You don't publicly call for someone to withdraw unless you know they are going to withdraw beforehand. It makes you look weak if they don't.

Exactly. Any contributions that I make will go back to Ohio and for Mandel. All Akin will get from me is, unfortunately, my vote (and I voted Brunner in the primary), as I could not ever vote for AirClaire directly or indirectly (leaving it blank). As far as money and any other support, Huckachuck can open his frickin’ wallet and support his personal village idiot. This Missouri resident will not.

Priebus is playing it smart, here.Who are you kidding????? He just admitted that he would rather see McCaskill in that seat rather than it go to one from his own party.
